EASTERN KENTUCKY 1, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1
RICHMOND,  Ky. -
Southeast Missouri soccer (4-5-2, 1-1-2) played Eastern Kentucky (5-3-3, 2-0-2) to a 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon.

SEMO finishes the weekend with a pair of ties and two points in the Ohio Valley Conference standings.

Early in the match, senior goalkeeper Kindra Lierz recorded her 255th career save to break Southeast's all-time saves record, topping Ashton Aubuchon's (2010-13) record of 254.

Lierz played all 110 minutes in net. She allowed one goal and made six saves, tying a season high.

Anna Hall played the entire contest in goal for EKU. She too allowed one goal and made six stops.

The Redhawks outshot the Colonels 15-12 Sunday afternoon. Both teams put seven shots on goal. Esmie Gonzales tied a career-high eight shots while Katie Lever also tied a career-best three.

Lauren Kaempfe was the lone Redhawk field player to full the entire 110-mimute match. Lexi Grote played 101 minutes.

Just three minutes into the game, Lierz recorded her record-setting 255th career save.

Lever netted her first career goal in the 15th minute. Lexi Grote threw in to Lever who made a nice falling shot inside the box past a diving Hall to put SEMO on top early. The assist was Grote's first of her freshman season.

Shots were low in the first half as Southeast and EKU each had three. Gonzales had two while Lever made her lone first-half shot count with the goal.

The Colonels were called for nine fouls in the first 45 minutes of play along while the Redhawks committed only three.

With eight minutes to play in regulation, EKU's Jordan Foster netted the equalizer, her fourth goal of the season, to tie the game up at one goal each and forcing the Redhawks' second-straight overtime match.

The second half shot total sat at eight for the Redhawks and six for EKU. Five separate Redhawks took shots in the latter half. Lever and Gonzales each had great looks at shots following the goal but neither found net.

For the second match in a row and third in four conference games, the Redhawks played into overtime.

Gonzales placed a pair of shots on goal in the first overtime period but both were stopped by Hall then added two more shots in the second overtime to bring her shot total to eight.

MOREHAED STATE 4, UT MARTIN 2
MOREHEAD, Ky. -
After scoring four unanswered goals to climb out of a 2-0 deficit, Morehead State soccer (2-7-1, 1-2-1 Ohio Valley Conference) picked up its first conference win in a 4-2 victory over UT Martin (4-7-2, 2-2 OVC) on Sunday afternoon at Jayne Stadium.

Following a scoreless 26 minutes to open the first half, UT Martin converted two goals in the span of two minutes to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. However, Samantha Damante's rocket into the upper corner of the net via an indirect kick by Marisa Lavatori opened the floodgates for the Eagles in 35th minute.

Down 2-1, sophomore midfielder Julia Hodge scored the only unassisted goal of the match at the 40-minute mark. Ashley Ritchie poured in one more off an assist from Shelby Huddleston almost immediately after, giving Morehead State its third goal in eight minutes, as well as a 3-2 halftime lead.

Junior goalkeeper Michelle Washburn, who faced 18 total shots and logged four saves on the day, anchored an MSU defense that held the Skyhawks in check throughout the final period. In the 74th minute, Morgan Treser capitalized on a feed from Dani Wilson by heading the ball past UT Martin goalkeeper Erica Myers for the lone second-half score of the contest.

Damante and Abby Timm led the Eagles with two shot attempts apiece, as Hodge, Ritchie, Treser, Lavatori, Tayler Stivers, Cara Maher, and Holly Logsdon each contributed to Morehead State's tally of 11 shots as a team.

Nicole Collins paced the Skyhawks in shots with five (two on goal). Danae Kaldaridou (one goal, three shots, two on goal and one assist), Katelyn Colvin (one goal, two shots and one on goal), Amy McGivern (three shots, one on goal), Ashley Levingston (two shots) fired away in the contest. Freshmen Alice Adams, Blare Gerido and Bella Roberts all chipped in one shot apiece.

UT Martin goalkeeper Erica Myers logged all 90 minutes of action and compiled four saves on the day.

AUSTIN PEAY 2, EASTERN ILLINOIS 0
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
With two second half goals, Austin Peay State University women's soccer team won a defensive duel against Eastern Illinois Sunday at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field in Clarksville.

The first half was dominated by two strong defenses that only allowed five combined shots in the period. Austin Peay earned five corner kicks, but were unable to find the target. The Govs traded runs with Eastern Illinois (5-6-1), but neither team was able to get a good shot on target and the half ended scoreless.

Coming out of the half, the Govs looked to spread the field and maintain possession as both teams had to deal with the unseasonable heat and humidity. Sophomore Shelby Stewart opened the scoring in the 57th minute taking a turn over near the halfway line and dribbling towards the 18-yard box. She split two defenders and fired a left-footed shot to the lower right corner.

The Govs had to withstand a high press after putting a goal on the board, but the back line cut out any balls played into EIU's forwards and sophomore keeper Mary Parker Powell was only called upon once to make a save in the match as the Governors held the Panthers to three shots.

Kirstin Robertson provided the insurance goal for the Govs in the 83rd minute as she fired a shot directly at the EIU keeper which rebounded inside the six-yard box where Robertson put it in the back of the net.

Robertson's ninth goal sealed the Governors seventh win, and sixth straight at home.

Hannah Heinz, Kayla Stolfa and Ali Carlson recorded shots for the Panthers.
