• OVC Game of the Week on ESPN3 Information
The November 17 Eastern Illinois at Southeast Missouri game has been selected as a "Wildcard Selection" in the league's Game of the Week football package on ESPN3. The game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. CT at Houck Field.
When the league's eight-contest Game of the Week schedule was announced in August, the Oct. 27, Nov. 3, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 games were deemed "Wildcard" dates where the matchup would not be announced until roughly two weeks prior to the contest.
Entering this week, Southeast Missouri is tied for first place in the OVC and controls its own destiny; a win in each of the final two weeks of the season and the Redhawks will win its second OVC Championship (the other coming in 2010) and earn the league's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs. SEMO and Eastern Illinois have played 25 previous times, with EIU holding an 18-7 all-time advantage; the Panthers have won five of the last six meetings against the Redhawks.
This marks the sixth-straight season the league has produced the Game of the Week package in conjunction with Tupelo Raycom (formerly WebStream Sports). With offices in New York, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Nashville and Los Angeles the company develops new programming and delivers live events, music specials and branded features for broadcast, digital and in-venue entertainment.
