Seven Ohio Valley Conference men's teams and seven women's teams earned All-Academic team status for the 2017 cross country season from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Both the men's and women's teams at Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Murray State, Southeast Missouri and SIUE were honored.
Nationally the USTFCCCA honored 195 men's teams and 228 women's teams at the Division I level. To qualify teams had to have a cumulative 3.00 GPA or greater.
In addition four individuals earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Those individuals were Belmont's
Kaleb McLeod, Eastern Kentucky's
Jamaine Coleman and
Luisa Boschan and Tennessee Tech's
Purity Sanga. The quartet was among 169 women and 100 men in Division I who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have finished in the top 25 finishers (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet.
