CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
  Claire Larose scored in the first half to lift Austin Peay State University's soccer team to its first conference win over Tennessee Tech, 1-0, Sunday, at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field.

The Govs (6-2-1, 1-0-1 OVC) started out on the front foot, with Amber Bateman having a shot saved in the 9th minute.

The Golden Eagles (5-4, 1-1 OVC) did not muster much offensively in the first half, with only one shot total in the half.

The Govs' pressure paid off in the 18th minute when Jade Dauriat slid a perfect ball through to Larose, who shot the ball on the ground to the right corner for a deserved lead. No other notable scoring chances occurred in the first half besides Jennifer Smith's acrobatic volley off a corner going wide.

The second half started off with the Golden Eagles going forward more. Mary Parker Powell made a save to tip a shot onto the crossbar in the 59th minute. Brice Bement made an immediate impact off the bench again, having a shot that went wide. Bateman had another shot that was blocked, but the Golden Eagles had no real clear cut scoring chances.

Kendall Powell, Nora Vicsek and Ashley Grimes each recorded a shot on goal for the Golden Eagles.  

EASTERN KENTUCKY 0, EASTERN ILLINOIS 0
RICHMOND, Ky.
- The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team battled visiting Eastern Illinois to a double-overtime, scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon.
 
It was the third shutout of the season for freshman goalkeeper Zoe Aguirre and the EKU defense. Aguirre made four saves in the game, while senior Kacy Eckley and sophomore Katie Shaffer played all 110 minutes on the backline.
 
Shot attempts were fairly even on the day, as EKU (4-5-1, 0-1-1 OVC) fired 12 and EIU (2-4-3, 1-0-1 OVC) fired 13.
 
The Colonels attempted seven corner kicks to the Panthers’ one.
 
Senior Idalys Rea led EKU with four shots. Seniors Bailly Bounds and Monica Rios both put shots on frame for the Colonels.

Sarah DeWolf led the Panthers with four shots, including two on goal. EIU goalkeeper Sara Teteak made a pair of saves in the game .

MOREHEAD STATE 1, SIUE 0
MOREHEAD, Ky.
- Senior forward Dani Wilson netted a penalty kick with three seconds remaining in the game to propel the Morehead State soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Ohio Valley Conference foe SIUE on Sunday afternoon at Jayne Stadium.
 
Wilson, who now has made five game-winning goals in her career, was fouled by an SIUE defender as she tried to take a shot. The Elizabethtown, Ky., native's penalty kick shot found the back-left corner of the goal for her third goal of 2018. Wilson has now converted 5-of-6 penalty kick attempts in her career.
 
Redshirt-sophomore Eva Helgadottir picked up her first shutout win as an Eagle. Helgadottir made eight saves to preserve the clean sheet and elevated her save total to 62 for the 2018 season.
 
The Eagles took 13 total shots in the match with senior's Cara Maher and Makenna Lavatori leading the charge with four apiece. Wilson added two shots in the match while freshmen Evan Kays, Nicole Palmer, and Colleen Swift each took one shot.

SIUE's Kayla Klipsch and Amanda Dinardo each recorded three shots on goal in the game. 
 
Morehead State is now 2-8-0 overall and 1-1-0 in OVC play while the Cougars drop to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in conference.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - 
The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer squad claimed a 1-0 victory at Southeast Missouri this afternoon to open Ohio Valley Conference action. 

UT Martin (6-2) is off to its best start in program history as the 2018 Skyhawks are the first team to ever win six of their first eight contests to begin a season. 

The UT Martin offense outshot the Redhawks 15-7 in total shots and 10-2 in shots on goal as Samantha Kelly gave the Skyhawks the lift to come out victorious. Skylor Keane tallied her second assist on the season as she connected with Kelly for the goal. Katelyn Colvin paced the club in total shots (six) and shots on goal (four) while Amy McGivern (four shots and two on goal) also put up multiple swings. Kaci Mitchell, Keane, Alice Adams and Bianca McFarland rounded out the shot column.

The back line showcased its prowess again today as Jacalyn Schubring and Mitchell both logged 90 minutes played while Kamryn Chappell tallied 80 minutes on the pitch.

Erica Myers tallied her second clean sheet on the season as she racked up a pair of saves in her 90 minutes in goal.

A defensive bout throughout, the Skyhawks would finally hit pay dirt at the 50:57 mark as Keane sent a cross to Kelly who sent the ball into the back of the net.

Freshman Bailey Redden logged her first career start in goal for the Redhawks and recorded nine saves on the day.
