EASTERN ILLINOIS 1, TENNESSEE TECH 1
CHARLESTON, Ill. -
Eastern Illinois women’s soccer wrapped up its home 2019 schedule on Friday afternoon playing its third straight overtime match.  After 110 minutes, EIU and Tennessee Tech walked away with a 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

EIU is now 3-8-3 overall, 2-4-2 in the OVC.  TTU is 6-5-5 overall, 4-1-3 in the OVC.

Both goalkeepers were solid on the day as Sara Teteak finished with four saves for EIU.  Isabelle Austin collected five saves for TTU.

After a scoreless first half, EIU had a good scoring opportunity early in the second half as Itxaso Aguero had her shot hit the post in the 51st minute.

Tennessee Tech finally broke through in the 68th minute as Kendall Powell found a free ball in the goal box and redirected a deflected ball for the Golden Eagles goal.

Eastern Illinois countered five minutes later as Sarah DeWolf found a ball near the top of the box and sent a high shot that just deflected over the hands of Austin.

In the overtime session, both teams had two scoring chances.  TTU had a shot early in the first overtime by Tina Marlot.  Macy Carter would have header in the box in the 102nd minute.

The Panthers had two chances in the second overtime with DeWolf sending a good shot towards the goal in the 105th minute.  Haylee Renick made one final scoring run that was saved by Austin in the 109th minute.

EASTERN KENTUCKY 0, BELMONT 0
RICHMOND, Ky. -
The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team battled visiting Belmont to a 0-0 draw on Friday afternoon.

Early in the game, freshman Audrey Anderson buried a shot from just outside the box, but the goal was waived off due to a foul call.

The Colonels continued attacking, outshooting the Bruins on the day, 12-8.

Belmont’s Julie Garst had a shot at an open goal in the first overtime, but junior defender Claire Hicks was able to get to the ball and clear it before it crossed the line.

Sophomore Sarah Owusu led all players in the game with four shots. Anderson and senior Monica Rios both put shots on frame for the Colonels.

Junior center back Katie Shaffer played all 110 minutes on EKU’s backline to help preserve the shutout.

Sophomore goalkeeper Zoe Aguirre made two saves and earned her second clean sheet of the season for the Colonels.

Belmont's Lily Herman also had a pair of saves to earn the shutout.

AUSTIN PEAY 3, MOREHEAD STATE 0
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
In a match that had big implications in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament race, Claire Larose led Austin Peay State University soccer to a 3-0, scoring a goal and assisting twice more as the Governors routed Morehead State, Friday, at Morgan Bros. Soccer Field.

The Governors offense ran through Larose all night; the Ontario native had a part in every goal scored in the match. In the 19th minute, Larose fired a cross into the box, where a diving Anna McPhie got a head on the ball and put it past the Morehead State keeper. Larose did it all herself in the 52nd minute, taking the ball across midfield and all the way to the back of the net. Finally, in the 74th minute, Larose dished out one more assist to a wide open Delanie McKeon , putting the final tally on the board in the Govs 3-0 victory.

The Governors got on the board early and often against Morehead State, with the first goal coming off the head of McPhie. Larose dribbled into the corner, where she fired a cross into the box and found the diving McPhie, who connected with the header to beat the Morehead State keeper in the 19th minute. It was the third goal on the season for McPhie, and the fourth assist for Larose.

In the 52nd minute, Larose showed off some fancy footwork, dribbling the ball through a host of Morehead State defenders, before firing a top-shelf rocket past the keeper. It was the third goal of the season for Larose, who tied Rachel Bradberry for the team lead.

The Governors tacked on an insurance goal in the 74th minute. Larose fired a shot off the Morehead State keeper, collected the rebound, and dished out another assist to a wide-open McKeon at the opposite post. McKeon's goal was the first of her career, and was also the first point of her career.

It was a dominating performance for the Governor defense, who held Morehead State to just five shots with only one on goal. Mary Parker Powell and Chloé Dion combined for the shutout, with Powell keeping Morehead State scoreless for the first 79 minutes and Dion sealing the deal in the final 11 minutes.

The four-point outing for Larose gives her 11 points on the season, and extends her team lead in points to five. The four-point performance tied Larose's career high in points, and was the third time in her career she has scored four points in a match.

Sophomore Nicole Palmer led MSU with two shot attempts. In goal, freshman Kayla Landman made five saves.

JACKSONVILLE STATE 3, MURRAY STATE 2
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -
Jacksonville State freshman Cynthia Bagozzi turned in two goals to lead the Gamecocks past Murray State on Friday, knocking off the Racers, 3-2, in the final home outing of the season.

The win snapped a lengthy losing skid for JSU and it was the first conference victory of the season.  JSU will head into the final two matches of the season next weekend with a 4-12 overall mark and 1-7 in OVC play.  MSU, who entered the contest in second place in the league standings, dropped to 8-7 on the season and a 5-2 against OVC foes.  The win also marked the first over the Racers since the 2007 campaign.

Bagozzi, from Orlando, Florida, tallied her first of two on the night in the 29th minute to break up a 1-1 deadlock and issued the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute.  The forward pushed her season total to seven goals.  Junior Auset Gibbs helped her on the first goal, while senior Cheyenne Carden was credited with the assist on the final goal.

After the Racers' Arianna Mendez struck first with a goal in the first six minutes, JSU answered with an equalizing goal by sophomore Reilly Kucko.  It was her second goal of the season.

After taking a 2-1 lead into the halftime break, the Racers had a turn at an equalizing goal and connected off the foot of Lauren Payne in the 67th minute.  MSU had seven shots in each 45-minute period and eight total corner kick chances.

Lerch finished with four stops on the night in 90 minutes of action.

CARBONDALE, Ill. -
