CHARLESTON, Ill. - A three-set sweep for SIUE volleyball Wednesday over Eastern Illinois improves the Cougars' Ohio Valley Conference record to 7-6. The team improved their overall record to 12-13.
The Panthers now drop to 2-23 overall and 1-12 in the OVC.
The Cougars ended the night with nine blocks, averaging three per set.
On top of the nine blocks, the team also ended the evening with 50 digs. Jordyn Klein contributed 18 of the 50 digs.
Rachel McDonald led the Cougars with 12 kills and finished with a .258 hitting percentage, while also adding 12 digs.
Kiana Fields ended the match with eight kills, with a hitting percentage of .438.
The team ended the match with four aces. Sarah Armendariz and Dylynn Otte both contributed two each.
Klein's first dig of the evening marked her 1000th career dig.
The Panthers were led by Laurel Bailey and Kylie Michael with eight kills each. Bailey Chandler led the team in assists with 19 while Maggie Runge had six blocks.
