Belmont University men's basketball senior Dylan Windler has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Men's Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This marks the second consecutive year Windler has earned the prestigious honor.

Overall he is the 279th OVC student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors since 1970 (and fourth this school year) and the 15th men's basketball student-athlete.

A three-time OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and OVC Scholar-Athlete Award winner, Windler currently holds a 3.74 grade-point average in his chosen major of accounting. He is also a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.

The 6-8 guard/forward emerged as one of the top two-way players in college basketball. Windler has posted 35 career double-doubles, including in 10 of his last 13 games. He ranks among OVC leaders in 10 statistical categories, namely third in scoring (21.4) and first in rebounding (10.7) - a category he led for a second consecutive season. Windler is the only player in America averaging at least 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He has led Belmont to 93 victories and three conference championships in his three-plus seasons, including Power 5 victories over UCLA, Georgia and Vanderbilt. The Bruins have also earned national Top 25 poll votes in three of Windler's four seasons.

This marks the 32nd time a Belmont student-athlete has received Academic All-America honors. In fact, Belmont men's basketball leads the nation in CoSIDA Academic All-America® selections since 2000-01 with 17 (Butler is second with 10).

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution and be nominated by his media relations' director.
