 The Jacksonville State volleyball team turned in a strong performance in its Ohio Valley Conference opener on Wednesday night, sweeping Tennessee Tech at home for its third consecutive win.

The Gamecocks were led by junior Lexie Libs with her 45 assists and 12 digs. Offensively, sophomore Lena Kinderman and Kaylee Frear led the Gamecocks with 14 and 12 kills, respectively, on a night Jax State bolstered a staggering .398 combined hitting clip. A trio of Gamecock posted plus-.500 nights in Kindermann, Sadie Anderson and freshman Taylor Pribyl, whose seven kills mark a new career-best. Across the net, senior Maddie Cloutier followed Libs recording her first double-digit dig total with 10. 

The Gamecocks (7-6) defeated the Golden Eagles (4-10) in straight sets, having now won their last nine sets overall. The Gamecocks started the game on fire winning the first two sets handily while posting a hitting percentage above .400. The opening set ended 25-15, and took then led the match 2-0 at intermission following a 25-18 second set.

The Gamecocks did not win without some adversary, as the Jax State trailed 15-9 midway through the third set. After a JSU timeout, the Gamecocks stormed back to even the score at 18-18, before taking the final set by a score of 25-23.

Ali Verzani led Tech with eight kills while Carly Skrabak had a team-best 13 digs. Ashley Hand dished out 24 assists for the Golden Eagles.
