EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE and Tennessee Tech played to a 2-2 draw in Edwardsville, Ill., on Thursday evening. The Cougars are now 2-4-3 overall and 0-1-2 in league play while the Golden Eagles moved to 3-4-4 overall and 1-0-2 in OVC action.
Tennessee Tech's Cassidy Bereda scored the first goal of the game just over 16 minutes into the contest. Kendall Powell recorded the assist.
The Golden Eagles would find the back of the net again just after halftime as Powell scored a goal on the assist by Bereda.
The Cougars would cut the lead in half as Becca Jostes scored a goal at the 70:53 mark. Mackenzie Litzsinger recorded the assist.
SIUE's Andra Frerker netted the game tying goal on a penalty kick with under four minutes to play in regulation.
Tennessee Tech goalkeeper Isabelle Austin made a trio of saves while giving up a pair of goals.
Jensen Schoch and Bella Henderson split time in goal for the Cougars. Schoch did not allow a goal and made a pair of saves.
