Athlon Sports has ranked each Austin Peay and Jacksonville State in its Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Preseason Top 25 for 2020 while also tabbing APSU defensive back
Kordell Jackson an All-American in its annual yearbook which was published recently.
The publication ranked Austin Peay, last year's OVC Co-Champions and FCS Quarterfinalist, No. 13 in the poll, while picking Jacksonville State, who won five-straight OVC crowns from 2014-18, at No. 24. North Dakota State was tabbed No. 1 in the poll.
Jackson was the lone OVC All-American selection. A year ago Jackson was an unanimous All-American selection in addition to being the the FCS ADA Defensive Back of the Year. He tallied seven interceptions, just one off the national lead, and also scored three defensive touchdowns, two by interception and one on a fumble return. He also added 43 tackles (7.0 for loss) and two sacks.
The OVC will announce its official predicted order of finish preseason poll and preseason All-OVC teams on Monday, July 20 as the annual OVC Football Media Day presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans and Delta Dental of Tennessee. This year's event will be held virtually.
