CLARKSVILLE, Tenn
. - After a scoreless first half, Austin Peay State University soccer scored the first goal of the match when Morgan Drawdy found the back of the net in the 50th minute, but Eastern Illinois tied the match in the 72nd minute and after two overtime periods the Govs and Panthers played to a 1-1 draw on Senior Day, Friday, at Morgan Bros. Soccer Field.

Austin Peay (2-5-1) had the best scoring opportunity of the first half when Claire Larose put a shot on target in just the second minute of the match. However, Eastern Illinois (1-6-1) goalkeeper Faith Davies was up to the task and kept the Govs off the scoreboard in the first 45 minutes.

Austin Peay goalkeeper Peyton Powell also kept a clean sheet in the first half, but with the score tied 0-0 after the first 45 minutes, the Governors went with Chloé Dion in net for the remainder of the game after halftime.

In the second half, the Govs scored on their first shot attempt when Morgan Drawdy collected a long pass from Tori Case and chipped it over Davies for a breakaway goal in the 50th minute. Drawdy's 50th-minute tally was the eighth goal of her Austin Peay career and her first of the season, the goal also marked Case's team-best third assist of the season.

In the 72nd minute, Eastern Illinois' Nicoletta Anuci fired a shot just over the outstretched hands of a jumping Dion to score a goal on the Panther's only shot on goal of the match.

With the match tied at one, Jisela Dall took the only other shot on goal in regulation, but was unable to best the Eastern Illinois keeper and the Governors went to overtime for the third-straight match at Morgan Bros. Soccer Field.

After neither team took a shot in the first ten-minute overtime period, Dall fired the first shot on target of overtime in the 104th minute of the match, but she was once again unbale to beat Davies. Ashley Whittaker took the only other shot of overtime in the 107th minute, but her shot was off target and the Governors played to their first draw of the season.

JACKSONVILLE STATE 3, MOREHEAD STATE 1
JACKSONVILLE, Ala.
- The Jacksonville State soccer team won for the third time in the last four outings with a 3-1 win over Morehead State on Friday afternoon at the JSU Soccer Field.

The Gamecocks are unbeaten over the last four matches with the lone tie coming against UT Martin last Tuesday night. JSU improved to 3-3-1 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 1-6 overall. Jax State picked up three crucial points toward qualifying for one the four spots in the Ohio Valley Conference Soccer Championship.

JSU shook off a sluggish start to the contest after the Eagles registered the first goal of the contest. MSU's Nicole Palmer in the 18th minute.

Redshirt freshman Ida Cederberg sparked the come-from-behind result with her second goal of the season in the 25th minute. Freshman Kylie Wells and sophomore Cynthia Bagozzi started the scoring play ahead of Cederberg's netted ball.

The Gamecocks broke the 1-1 deadlock with a goal by junior Ali Thomas in the 62nd minute. Senior Alicia Pallister collected sixth assist of the season. The reigning OVC Offensive Player of the Week extended her league lead in assists.

Thomas and Cederberg registered a team-high three shots each in the outing.

JSU added an insurance goal three minutes later off the foot of Bagozzi. The Orlando, Florida native finished with three points in the contest and has nine on the season.

The Gamecocks entered the match as one of the top shooting teams in the conference and they will continue to be one of the league leaders in that category with 22 shots with 14 of those coming in the second half. JSU's defense held the Eagles to nine shots on the day.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Morgan Lerch tallied five saves and picked up her third win in goal.

MURRAY STATE 2, SIUE 1
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.
- SIUE women's soccer was taken down for the first time in the Spring 2021 season, falling on Friday night to Murray State, 2-1.

Murray State opened up the scoring in the 26th minute, and held that lead into halftime. The Cougars came out of the locker room and pulled even in the second half after Lily Schnieders neatly slotted a penalty kick into the bottom right corner of the net in the 54th minute. However, the tie would hold for just under 20 minutes, as a defensive error gave Murray State's Chloe Barnthouse a clear shot on goal to net the game-winner.
