Belmont University men's basketball head coach Casey Alexander has been named finalist for the 2021 Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award, CollegeInsider.com announced Monday.

Alexander has led Belmont to the most victories in NCAA Division I men's basketball this season (26), 21 consecutive victories, 30 consecutive conference victories (including tournament), national Top 25 poll votes eight consecutive weeks and the program's 12th regular season conference championship in 16 years.

The Bruins rank Top 25 nationally in 15 statistical categories, including first in assists (547), third in 2-point field goal percentage (.594) and seventh in assist turnover ratio (1.52).

In two seasons, Alexander has led Belmont to a 52-11 record, consecutive Ohio Valley Conference regular season championships and the 2020 OVC Tournament title.

The 1995 Belmont graduate was a candidate for the Naismith Men's Coach of the Year and was a 2020 Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Award finalist.

The Skip Prosser Man of the Year award honors those who not only achieve success on the basketball court but who display moral integrity off the floor as well.

Other notable finalists include Mike Boynton (Oklahoma State), Leonard Hamilton (Florida State) and Chris Holtmann (Ohio State),

Alexander received the award in 2018.
