CINCINNATI, Ohio - Tennessee Tech fell at Cincinnati, 68-57, on Thursday night.
Maaliya Owens led the Golden Eagles with 14 points, including hitting four three-pointers. Reghan Grimes added 12 points and four rebounds. Jada Guinn nearly had a double-double with nine points and seven boards. Anna Walker paced Tech with 11 rebounds to go with seven points.
Tennessee Tech will return home to host Samford on Monday.
LITTLE ROCK 60, ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 56
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Little Rock opened the season with a 60-56 win over visiting Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday.
Nikki Metcalfe led the Trojans with 16 points to go with two rebounds, three assists and two steals. Faith Lee scored 14 points while Tia Harvey had 12 points. Jaiyah Harris-Smith brought down a team-high 11 rebounds to go with seven points.
Little Rock is back in action on Sunday when it hosts Ole Miss.
TROY 89, UT MARTIN 84
MARTIN, Tenn. - UT Martin dropped its season opener, 89-84, to Troy on Thursday night.
The Skyhawks' Kenley McCarn led all players with 31 points, including going a perfect 6-for-6 from the line. Sharnecca Currie-Jelks posted a double-double with 14 points and a team-best 15 rebounds. Seygan Robins and Pagie Pipkin each had 14 points in teh game.
UT Martin will be back in action on Monday as it welcomes Arkansas State.
OLE MISS 83, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 57
OXFORD, Miss. - Southeast Missouri dropped a road game at Ole Miss, 83-57, on Thursday.
SEMO's Rahmena Henderson led the team with 13 points, includign hitting a trio of three-pointers. Kennedi Watkins added 11 points to go with a pair of assists. Watkins went a perfect 5-for-5 from the line.
The Redhawks will travel to Missouri on Sunday.
