EVANSVILLE, Ind. 
- University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer and Chicago State University battle to a 3-3 draw Thursday afternoon at Strassweg Field. The Screaming Eagles go to 1-9-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the OVC, while Chicago State is 3-8-2, 1-3-1 OVC.
 
USI exploded offensively following the kickoff, scoring a pair of goals in the first five minutes. Junior forward Robert Schoenstein put the Eagles in front, 1-0, with his first goal of the season at 1:16.
 
Schoenstein was assisted on the goal by senior midfielder Nick Faddis and junior midfielder Elmer Garcia.
 
Garcia increased the USI advantage to 2-0 three minutes later when he recorded his first tally of the season at 3:55. He had a clear shot from five yards out, after receiving assisting passes from Schoenstein and Faddis.
 
The Eagles saw their lead grow to 3-0 after Faddis convert his second penalty kick of the season at 22:35 for his second goal of the year. USI was awarded the penalty kick after Schoenstein was fouled inside the box.
 
The Cougars chipped away at the Eagles' lead late in the first half, scoring their first of the match at 29:05. The 3-1 USI lead would hold through the end of halftime.
 
Cougars would own the second half with a pair of goals in the final 21 minutes and outshoot the Eagles, 11-2. Chicago State narrowed USI's lead to 3-2 with a tally at 69:24 before putting a flurry of shots on the Eagles' goal in the final minutes to get the equalizer at 88:26 for a 3-3 final.

LIBERTY 4, EASTERN ILLINOIS 0
CHARLESTON, Ill. 
- The Liberty Flames struck for two goals in the first nine minutes of the contest, rolling to a 4-0 victory over the Eastern Illinois Panthers in an Ohio Valley Conference contest Thursday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

The Flames recorded their first shutout of the season and snapped a two-game losing streak with the win.

Michael Huss scored Liberty's first goal during the game's fourth minute and Gora Gora netted the Flames' second goal, placing a corner kick into the top left corner of the net for a 2-0 advantage just nine minutes into the match.

Grayson Gardner scored his first goal of the season, heading a corner kick into the back of the net late in the first half to send Liberty into halftime up 3-0. Freshman Matthew Torrell closed out the Flames scoring with his first goal of his collegiate career in the second half.

Meanwhile, Liberty held Eastern Illinois to three shots in the contest, all in the first half.

The Flames move to 3-2 in OVC play and 8-4 overall. The Panthers dropped their fourth consecutive contest. Eastern Illinois falls to 1-4 in OVC action and 2-7-2 overall.

SIUE 3, UIW 0
EDWARDSVILLE, Ind. 
- SIUE men's soccer made it 12 games without a defeat and took over sole possession of first place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 3-0 win over Incarnate Word Thursday at Korte Stadium.

SIUE is now 9-0-3 overall and 4-0-1 in the OVC. The nine wins mark the most in a season under Head Coach Cale Wassermann, and the most since 2018.

UIW dropped to 5-5-3 and 3-1-1 in the league.

All three of SIUE's goals came after the two teams played a scoreless first half, with UIW outshooting SIUE 4-3.

Jake Karolczak scored the first two goals of the game, putting the Cougars ahead in the 53rd minute with a shot from the near the top of the box. His second strike came in the 70th minute, when he blasted in near post over UIW goalkeeper Hugo Constant.

Andres Dealscio assisted on the first goal and Jacob Bilyeu picked up the assist on the second.

Pavel Dashin put the game out of reach with just over three minutes to play when he corralled a long pass from Bilyeu. Dashin pulled the ball back from his right to his left foot before tucking it in at the far post.

Shots were even 11-11 with SIUE putting eight shots on goal to UIW's five. Sam Gomez made five saves and he and the Cougars picked up their six shutout of the season, and the fourth in OVC play.

HCU 1, LINDENWOOD 1
ST. CHARLES, Mo. 
- Lindenwood men's soccer (5-4-4. 2-1-2 OVC) picked up its fourth draw of the season with a 1-1 tie against the Huskies of Houston Christian at Hunter Stadium on Thursday evening. The Lions pick up their eighth point in the Ohio Valley Conference standings.

Cooper Wilson powered the Lindenwood offense early on in the match with his third goal of the season, good for second on the team. In the fourth minute of play, Wilson secured a cross from a corner kick from Jens Haukeland which resulted in a header. Haukeland leads the team this season with five assists.

The Lions' offense only had four shots in the first 45 minutes of action with two of them coming on goal. Lindenwood also had four corner kicks in the first half and limited HCU to just one which resulted in a goal.

During the 18th minute, Houston Christian's Kharrel Medza scored in the center of the net after a header assist by D'Alessandro Herrera. It was one of three shots on goal the Huskies had in the first half. 

Both defenses stood strong in the second half with no goals scored and only six total shots taken, three by each team. Goalkeeper Enzo Gil finished the match with four saves against the Huskie offense. Defenders Noe Bijou, Luke Neely and Matty Wackerfuss played all 90 minutes.
