OVC Male Co-Golfer of the Month

Baker repeated as OVC Golfer of the Month after a pair of impressive tournaments in October. Baker averaged 70.0 strokes per round and tallied a pair of top eight finishes. He opened the month by finishing eighth of 88 at Wichita State with scores of 68-68-72 (208, -8).  He followed that by placing third out of 76 at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate with scores of 74-71-67 (212, -1). Five of his six rounds were par or better with three rounds in the 60s. Baker finished October with a head-to-head record of 151-9-1 (93.7 winning percentage). He leads the OVC in scoring average (70.1) after fall competition.

Day had a pair of top seven finishes, including winning medalist honors at The Buddy, during the month of October. The senior averaged 70.0 strokes per round, with four of his five rounds being under par.  At The Buddy he fired rounds of 70-66-70 to finish at 206 (-7), which established a new USI 54-hole record. His round of 66 was tied for the third-best in school history. Day followed that by finishing seventh at a rain-drenched Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational, posting a team-best even-par 144. He started slow with a first round 74, but rallied in the second round with a two-under 70.

OVC Female Golfer of the Month
Anna Dawson · Jr. · Waterford, Ireland · Little Rock

Dawson tallied seven rounds in the month of October and finished with a 71.86 scoring average, which was tops in the league. In a weather-shortened event at Yale, the junior had a round of 75 to finish 15th. Two weeks later she tied for first at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, shooting rounds of 69-71-71 to finish at 211 (-5); in that event she helped Little Rock finish fourth out of 16 teams. She capped the month by shooting rounds of 72-73-72 at the Diamante Intercollegiate, finishing with a 54-hole total of 217 (+1). Her play helped the Little Rock team set new program records for 36 and 54-hole team scores. Through the fall season her 72.9 scoring average is second in the OVC (0.5 out of first place).
