SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 86, HARRIS-STOWE STATE 48
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (2-4) scored a season-high 86 points on Tuesday to defeat Harris-Stowe (2-4) by a final score of 86-48 from the Show-Me Center. 
 
Guards Jaliyah Green and Indiya Bowen led the way for the Redhawks offensively scoring 17 and 14 points, respectively, to help SEMO remain undefeated at home in 2023-24. 
 
The duo combined for 10-of-21 from the floor and 5-for-6 from behind the three-point line. Bowen finished a perfect four-for-four from behind the arc, a career-best three-point percentage (1.000). 
 
SEMO dominated the entire way as the Redhawks finished 33-for-71 from the field (47-percent) and a season-high 47-percent from three-point land in the contest. 
 
The Redhawks were able to force 34 Harris-Stowe turnovers and converted those into 26 fastbreak points as six Redhawks finished with three or more steals, led by Bowen and Green with four each. 
 
Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week Daejah Richmond finished the game with six points on 3-of-5 shooting. She snagged five total rebounds, three on the offensive end of the floor, and dished out five assists in 18 minutes of action. 
 
Senior forward Julia Sion had a nice impact off the bench for the Redhawks as she finished with 10 points, a season and SEMO career-high, as she was 5-for-11 from the field and pulled down six rebounds. 
 
The Redhawks utlitzed their depth once again in Tuesday's contest, scoring 40 points off the bench led by Indiya Bowen (14) and Kiyley Flowers (12). 
 
Flowers, who registered a new season-high, finished five-for-seven from the floor and two-for-two from the free throw line in 22 minutes of game time. 
 
SEMO trailed for just 3:27 of the contest, coming in the first quarter as the Hornets got out to a 4-2 lead at the 7:08 mark in the first 10-minutes. 
 
The Hornets never led by more than three points when they led 9-6 after a three-pointer by Kya Gordon. 
 
Megan Barton collected an offensive rebound on the ensuing possession and finished the second-chance opportunity to get SEMO to within one point. The Redhawks crashed the offensive glass, grabbing 12 offensive boards and converted them into 10 second-chance points. 
 
After the layup from Barton, the Redhawks closed the quarter on an 8-0 run and never looked back as they took a 16-10 lead into the first break. 
From that point on it was all Redhawks as the defense turned it up a notch. SEMO converted 34 Harris-Stowe turnovers into 43 points, scored 46 points in the paint, and held the Hornets to just seven points in the fourth quarter.

MURRAY STATE 88, UT MARTIN 70
MURRAY, Ky. - The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team hung tough with the nation's third-ranked scoring offense but ultimately came up short against former Ohio Valley Conference rival Murray State by a final margin of 88-75.

The Skyhawks (0-6) posted their best offensive performance of the season by shooting 52.7 percent (29-of-55) from the field while scoring a season-best 75 points. The squad also scored 28 points in the fourth quarter – posting their best scoring period of the season – while placing three players in double figures.

Kenley McCarn paced the Skyhawks with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting while knocking down a trio of three-pointers. Sophomore forward Lexi Rubel posted a new career-high with 17 points while adding five rebounds. Fellow sophomore Anaya Brown just missed out on her second double-double in as many games after tallying 13 points and nine rebounds.

Murray State (3-2) maintained its high-scoring pace by reaching 88 points while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and knocking down 11 three-pointers. The Racers placed six players in double figures, led by 15 points and 11 rebounds by Katelyn Young while Zoe Stewart tossed in 14 points off the bench. Cayson Conner (11 points), Jenna Walker (11 points), Hannah McKay (10 points) and Ava Learn (10 points) also reached double-digits.

WESTERN ILLINOIS 86, CHICAGO STATE 72
DEKALB, Ill. - On a historic night for Head Coach JD Gravina, Western Illinois celebrated their 6th win of the season and a significant milestone as Coach Gravina achieved his 300th career win. The Leathernecks displayed their prowess on the court with a commanding 86-72 victory over Chicago State inside Western Hall, marking their fifth consecutive victory and elevating their season record to an outstanding 6-1.

The game started with an electrifying performance from Anna Deets, who embarked on a personal 5-0 run and contributed seven of Western Illinois' first nine points. Carla Flores extended the lead with a three-pointer, pushing WIU to an 18-9 advantage with just under two minutes remaining in the first quarter. A fast-break layup by Addi Brownfield in the final minute solidified a 20-11 lead, setting the tone for the Leathernecks early.

Midway through the second quarter, Mallory McDermott's three-pointer and an Alissa Dins layup propelled Western Illinois to a comfortable 15-point lead. The offenses traded baskets, culminating in a buzzer-beater by Raegan McCowan, which sent the Leathernecks into halftime with a substantial 38-23 lead.

The second half commenced with a burst of energy from Western Illinois as they embarked on a 5-0 run, further solidifying their control of the game. Responding to Chicago State's attempts to rally with a 4-0 run, WIU countered with a 6-2 run, spearheaded by Allie Meadows, extending their lead to 51-29 with 6:18 left in the third quarter.

The Leathernecks concluded the third quarter in dominant fashion, embarking on a 13-5 run that propelled them to a commanding 68-40 lead. Four players contributed to the scoring spree, showcasing the team's depth and versatility.

Maintaining their resilience, the Leathernecks held firm at the start of the fourth quarter. Lily Rangaard's three-pointer kept the lead at 28 points (76-48). Despite Chicago State's late surge, cutting the lead down to 12, Rangaard's clutch three and two free throws by McDermott secured the 86-72 victory for Western Illinois.

Anna Deets led the scoring charts with 17 points, while Raegan McCowan contributed a well-rounded performance with 13 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Carla Flores showcased her sharpshooting skills with 13 points, hitting all four of her three-point attempts. Addi Brownfield and Jasmine Nichols added 9 points, the latter with a perfect 3-3 field goal record. The bench, led by Mallory McDermott and Lily Rangaard, contributed a collective 38 points, outscoring Chicago State's bench 38-8.

Western Illinois capitalized on their opponent's mistakes, scoring 17 points off Chicago State's 16 turnovers. The team displayed efficiency with a 47% shooting accuracy from the field and 46% from beyond the arc.

NEW MEXICO 81, EASTERN ILLINOIS 78 (OT)
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Eastern Illinois built a five-point lead in overtime on Tuesday night on baskets by Macy McGlone and Ellie Buzzelle but the Panthers could not pull off the upset in The Pit falling to New Mexico 81-78 in the extra period.

McGlone was a force all night for the Panthers finishing with 29 points and 14 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double.

McGlone scored EIU's first four points in overtime and her 3-pointer with 1:58 remaining in overtime pushed the Panthers out to a 76-71 lead.

Buzzelle would keep it a two-possession game with free throws with 1:19 remaining as she finished with 19 points for EIU.

New Mexico closed the game on a 7-0 run.  Viane Cumber gave the Lobos the lead with 32 seconds left and iced the game with free throws with seven seconds left.   She would score seven of her 14 points for the game in the overtime session.

For the third straight game during their Thanksgiving week trip, EIU got off to a good start leading 24-15 after one quarter and 43-32 at the half.   EIU shot 58 percent in the opening quarter hitting 10-of-17 from the floor.

EIU trailed by four points with 1:37 left in regulation but scored four straight points by Buzzelle and McGlone to force overtime with the score tied 66-66.

Miah Monahan rounded out the EIU double figure scorers with 16 points.

The Lobos had a pair of 20-point scorers in the game with Paula Reus scoring 25 and Nyah Wilson 21.
