EASTERN ILLINOIS 12, #3 ARKANSAS 3
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.
-  Eastern Illinois (4-2, 0-0 OVC) avoid the sweep at Baum-Walker Stadium after taking game three over No. 3 Arkansas (5-2, 0-0 SEC) by a final score of 12-3. Marks first win against a ranked opponent since 2016 (No. 12 Arkansas).

Cole Gober had a monster day at the plate after going 4-5 with four RBI, a double and two solo home runs. Ryan Ignoffo also had two hits including a two-run home run.

Winning pitcher Ky Hampton (W, 2-0) went seven innings while allowing three runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Arkansas only posted two extra base hits on the afternoon. Cody Adcock (L, 1-1) picked up the loss for the Razorbacks after allowing four runs on four hits.

It marks the third win in program history against Arkansas and the fifth win all-time against a ranked opponent.

Eastern Illinois brought the bats out early on Sunday afternoon after scoring the first run in the top of the first. Lincoln Riley would get the first of EIU's 14 hits to leadoff the game and was brought home by Gober for his first RBI of the day.

Arkansas would strike back in the second with a solo home run by Jace Bohrofen off of Hampton. It was one of three hits allowed on the day by Hampton in his second start of the season. The Razorbacks would go hitless the next nine batters against Hampton.

EIU would give up two runs in the bottom of the fifth after an RBI double by John Bolton and an RBI single by Tavian Josenberger to take their only lead of the game at 3-1. Gober would chip away at the lead in the sixth after he hit his first of two home runs in the ball game.

The Panthers would take control of the game with two outs in the top of the seventh after a Chris Worcester RBI double to bring home Riley. EIU would go back-to-back home runs to left field off of Adcock with Ignoffo and Gober to extend their lead to 6-3.

Hampton ended his day on the mound in the seventh after retiring seven straight Razorbacks. He is the only starting pitcher for the Panthers this season to go at least six innings in both starts.

With a 6-3 lead heading into the eight, the Panthers matched their run total by adding six more. Robby Taul got the action started with an RBI single through the left side of the infield to score Ben Gallaher. After an error and a walk, Taul would score from third after a wild pitch by Gage Wood.

With the bases loaded, Ignoffo would hit a shallow single into right field to bring home his third RBI of the day. Gober followed that with an RBI single to right field to score Riley. With a full count, Cade Zalewski was walked with the bases loaded to score another. The scoring ended with a pass ball by Parker Coil to bring home Ignoffo for the sixth and final run.

MOREHEAD STATE 12, SAINT PETER'S 2
MOREHEAD, Ky.
- A third straight 12-run offensive outburst from the Morehead State baseball team and three great pitching performances highlighted Sunday's 12-2 win over Saint Peter's, with Morehead State on the cusp of becoming the first team in program history to start 9-0.

Senior Joe Rotkis (2-0) started on the mound and picked up the win for Morehead State (8-0). The right-hander went five innings, giving up two runs on four hits while allowing one walk and striking out three. Luke Lyman came on for Rotkis in the sixth, and striking out a batter in a scoreless frame. Ethan Davis also made an impact on the mound for the Eagles, throwing one shutout inning while allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.

The Eagles then held the Peacocks scoreless before expanding their lead in the fourth inning. The Morehead State offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Kuntz, which brought the score to 6-0 in favor of the Eagles.

Saint Peter's narrowed Morehead State's lead to 6-2 before the Eagles stretched the advantage to 10-2 in the fifth inning. The Eagles got a grand slam from Feltner off junior Austin Rohlfing to cash in four runs in the frame.

Morehead State held the Peacocks scoreless before building on their lead in the seventh inning. The Eagles scored two runs when a single from junior Colton Becker brought home junior Ryley Preece and junior Logan Castleman, bringing the Morehead State advantage to 12-2. The score remained 12-2 for the rest of the game, as the Eagles coasted to the win.

#22 GEORGIA TECH 11, TENNESSEE TECH 7
ATLANTA
- A big first inning by the Tennessee Tech baseball team wasn't enough to fend off the constant offensive threat of No. 22 Georgia Tech Sunday afternoon, as the Golden Eagles fell in the series finale with the Yellow Jackets, 11-7, at Mac Nease Park and Russ Chandler Stadium.

Much like the previous two days in the series, the purple and gold was quick to dent the scoreboard on Sunday, immediately pushing the Yellow Jacket pitching staff. The Golden Eagles took advantage of a pair of defensive miscues by the home team to put up a 4-0 lead.

With one out, second baseman Eddie Garza reached on an error at shortstop and right fielder Theo Bryant IV followed with a base hit to left field. First baseman John Dyer reached on a fielder's choice on the next at-bat, but another error at shortstop allowed Bryant to reach second safely and load the bases.

Designated hitter Tanner Shiver got the first run out of the way for the Golden Eagles, sending a sacrifice fly to center field for a 1-0 lead. Third baseman Peyton Mills made a 2-0 advantage thanks to an RBI single to right field. Two batters later, left fielder Austin Turner cracked a base knock to right-center field, driving in two more runs for the TTU effort.

Georgia Tech held the Golden Eagles scoreless over the next two frames, trying to fight back. TTU hurler Jacob Morin limited the Yellow Jackets' opportunities, holding the home squad's rally to just three runs over the opening three frames. He finished the day with a pair of punchouts.

The purple and gold pushed back out by a pair of runs in the fourth, with Turner leading off the frame with another base hit. An error by Georgia Tech later in the frame allowed the Golden Eagle junior to score, making it a 5-3 contest.

The Yellow Jackets responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning, but it was the fifth where the scoreboard flipped. The home squad racked up three runs in the bottom of the fifth, jumping on top 7-5 and never relinquished the lead again.

For good measure, Georgia Tech plated a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh, extending its advantage to 11-5.

The Golden Eagles worked for a rally in the eighth, with Turner again leading things off with a base hit. Back-to-back walks to center fielder Jackson Green and shortstop
Troy Baunsgard loaded the bases and Turner would score later in the frame, albeit on the end of a double play by the Yellow Jacket defense.

Despite the double play, the Golden Eagles plated one more in the frame, with Green coming home safely on a wild pitch.

Turner led the purple and gold with a 3-for-5 showing, two RBI, and two runs scored on the day while Bryant and Mills each added a pair of hits. Freshman hurler Josh Beasley tossed a scoreless frame out of the bullpen for the Golden Eagles in the eighth, allowing just one hit.

LITTLE ROCK 2-9, BRADLEY 0-19
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.
- Mother nature finally let up and Little Rock was able to begin the series against Bradley on Sunday in a doubleheader. The Trojans would be victorious in the first game, shutting out Bradley in a 2-0 win on the back of a great performance from starter Jackson Wells. The second game was a back and forth offensive showing before Bradley scored 10 runs in the top of the tenth split the day and series.

Starting pitching dominated in the first game of the day, and a phenomenal defensive effort was put on full display for both teams playing on less than ideal field conditions.

Wells made his second start of the year for the Trojans and set the tone of the game early, sitting the Braves down in order with one strikeout in the inning.

In the bottom of the first, Nico Baumbach reached base courtesy of a two out throwing error by the Braves third baseman that said over the fence next to the first base dugout, awarding Baumbach second base. However, the Trojan infielder would be stranded after a popout one batter later.

The following frame Bradley would get a leadoff single that was immediately erased thanks to a 6-4-3 double play. They would then get runners to first and third thanks to two, two out singles but the threat was ended with the strikeout of Easton Harris for the third out.

After a Skyler Trevino walk to lead off the bottom of the second, two outs would follow, and Trevino would be caught stealing second to end the inning.

A double began the third for Bradley and a sac bunt would get a runner to third with just one out in the inning, but another strikeout from Wells along with a spectacular diving grab from Ty Rhoades in right field would save a run and kept the game scoreless.

Alex Seguine would hit a two out single in the bottom of the third for Little Rock but was stranded after a flyout in the next at bat.

Wells would then settle into a groove, retiring 12 Braves batters in a row. No hitters would reach base for either team again until the top of the seventh, when Logan Delgado worked a leadoff walk, but Wells was able to get the next three batters out.

The scoreless tie was finally broken in the bottom of the seventh when Baumbach clobbered the first pitch of the inning over the left field wall, giving the Trojans a 1-0 lead.

After a leadoff walk and a failed sac bunt attempt from Bradley, Jacob Weatherley would come out of the bullpen to relieve Wells of his starting duties. A Braves baserunner would reach second, but the team was kept off the board thanks to an inning ending strikeout.

The Trojans added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, Ben Harmon reached on a hit by pitch and was moved to third with a sac bunt and wild pitch before Seguine pulled a double down the line, scoring Harmon and bringing in the final run of game one.

Weatherley stayed in for the ninth and was credited with the save after ending the game four batters later.

Wells was impressive on the bump, going 7.1 innings and not allowing a run on four hits with three strikeouts. He also picked up his first win in a Little Rock uniform.

Weatherley got his second save of the season and stuck out two in his 1.2 innings of work, allowing just one hit in the process.

Baumbach single-handedly created the deciding run in the win with his homer in the seventh. He went 1-for-4 in the game and hit his second homerun this season.

Seguine was the sole Trojan to collect multiple hits in game one, going 2-for-4 in the game for his third multi-hit performance of the season.

Game two was a much different game than the first, after a quiet first inning both offenses became active and remained that way through the end of the competition.

Bradley took the early lead in the top of the second on a two out, three run homerun by TJ Manteufel. Little Rock would respond in the bottom of the second with a leadoff blast from Trevino, his fourth of the season, to bring the game to a score of 3-1.

After a shutdown inning from Little Rock starter Preston Davis, the Trojans jumped on the Braves for five runs in the bottom of the third. A single from Jaxson Anderson and hit by pitches to get Seguine and Tyler Williams on base would load the bases with no outs. A fielder's choice would keep the bases full before Noah Brewer singled through the left side to move everyone up a base and cut the lead by a run. Trevino singled to the right side in the next at bat, scoring two and giving the Trojans a 4-3 lead. Rhoades then hit a shot up the middle to bring in an additional run. The flurry of offense would finally end with a Ryan Lee double that scored Trevino and had Rhoades thrown out trying to score from first base.

The Braves took the lead right back in the top of the fourth, loading the bases and then hitting a grand slam with no outs in the inning. They would go on to add one more unearned run to their total and the Trojans were then in a two run deficit.

Neither offense scored again until the bottom of the sixth. Still trailing 8-6, Ryan Lee hit his first homerun as a Trojan with two outs to cut the lead in half. Back to back to back singles then scored another run for Little Rock to even the game at eight runs apiece.

No more runs would score until the ninth inning when a triple to right field off the bat of Jackson Chatterton pushed a run across for the Braves and put the Trojans backs against the wall heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Little Rock would answer again, with one out in the ninth Baumbach hit his second homerun in the doubleheader, a solo shot and his third of the year, with one out to even the game and send it into extras.

Bradley then scored 10 runs in the top of the tenth, putting the game out of reach and splitting the series at one win for each team.

Five Trojans collected multiple hits in game two, with Anderson and Trevino leading the way with three each.

Austin Stubber was a bright spot on the mound, the senior right-hander threw three innings of shutout baseball allowing just two hits and striking out four.

Baumbach, Lee and Trevino all had homeruns for the Trojans in the second game of today's doubleheader. The trio combined for six of Little Rock's nine RBI in the game.

ACU cut the Redhawks lead in half in the bottom of the fifth when Williams scored Miesse on a hit to third base.

SEMO answered with two more runs in the top of the sixth. With runners on first and second after both Aranda and Sperling were hit by pitch, Ackerman picked up his second hit with a single up the middle which scored Aranda. Leeper's sacrifice bunt scored Sperling to make it 4-1 in favor of the Redhawks.

The Wildcats rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.

With the bases loaded and one out, Britt reached on a fielder's choice and Crew Parke scored. A two-RBI single by Tweedt followed to send the game to a 4-4 deadlock.

ACU put its eight and nine-hole hitters on base in its decisive eighth inning. Parke drew a two-out walk and went to third on a single by Randle. On the next play, Williams singled and Parke scored what ended up being the game-winning run.

Freshman Jonah Sarabia (0-1) suffered the loss. Sarabia walked one, struck out one and gave up one run on two hits.

VALPARAISO 17, UT MARTIN 4
MARTIN, Tenn.
-
The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team recorded a season-high five extra-base hits today but it wasn’t enough as the Skyhawks fell 17-4 in the final game of the Valparaiso series.

Andrew Fernandez produced a pair of doubles and a walk today to guide UT Martin offensively, driving in a pair of run. Blaze Bell went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Caleb Hobson scored two runs for the Skyhawks (3-6).

After the Beacons (4-2) scored two runs in the top of the first, the Skyhawks answered with a run of their own in the bottom half. Hobson drew a walk and two pitches later, he scampered home on an RBI double off the bat of Fernandez to make the score 2-1.

Petry gathered a double play and a strikeout in a shutout top of the second and UT Martin threatened in its next turn up to bat – placing the first two runners on with a Slade Taylor walk and Travis Stauter hit by pitch. However, Valparaiso was able to escape unscathed.

The Beacons scored three times (two earned) in the top of the third but once again, the Skyhawks battled right back – notching two runs in the third. Hobson drove a triple out to centerfield with one away and came in to score on Fernandez’s RBI double to left center. Fernandez would eventually come around to score on a Blaze Bell RBI double as UT Martin trimmed its deficit to 5-3.

The Skyhawks got within a run after the fourth inning. Petry worked through a scoreless frame on just 14 pitches in the top half. A two-out walk to Alec Beaman in the bottom half resulted in an RBI double off the bat of Zac Rice, making the score 5-4.

Valparaiso managed a pair of runs in the fifth before Steensma came in out of the bullpen, striking out a pair of batters to keep UT Martin within striking distance.

The Beacons then scored five runs in the seventh and four runs in the eighth to provide the final scoring margin. The Skyhawks placed a pair of runners on the basepaths in the seventh before loading the bases in the eighth but couldn’t come up with a big hit.
