In its first year in Division I and the OVC, the University of Southern Indiana has accepted an invite to compete in the 2023 Discount Tire College Basketball Invitatational (CBI).
The 15th annual event is being held March 18-22 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. The first two rounds will air on FloHoops with ESPN2 televising the semifinals and final.
The Screaming Eagles (16-16) are one of 16 teams in the field and will compete against San Jose State (20-13) in the First Round on Saturday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. CT. The winner will advance to play the winner of the Tarleton/Radford matchup.
USI was 9-9 in OVC play and tied for sixth in the standings
This marks the seventh OVC team to compete in the CBI and first since the 2018 season. OVC teams are 7-7 all-time in the event with Morehead State having advanced to the Championship Series in the 2016 season.
