NASHVILLE, Tenn
. - Southeast Missouri (11-8, 4-1) split a doubleheader with Tennessee State (13-12-1, 4-1) Saturday at Tiger Field. SEMO dropped the first game, 3-0, but rallied to win the nightcap, 9-2.
 
SEMO scored twice in the first, once in the second and another two times in the third to get a 5-0 lead during the nightcaps.
 
Kat Sackett and Kynzie Wrigley each hit a RBI-double to get the Redhawks a 2-0 lead.
 
The Redhawks, after scoring once in the second, put up two more runs in the third when Sidney Melton tripled and Brittany Affolter scored. Melton later touched home on a wild pitch.
 
Aubrie Shore's three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning completed the win.
 
Sydney Dennis, Wrigley, Shore, Alyson Tucker and Kimmy Fleming all head two hits each.
 
For the day, SEMO had 14 hits.
 
In game one, Caitlyn Manus pitched a complete game shutout in a 3-0 victory.
 
Manus, struck out one, walked three and allowed four hits in seven innings during her shutout win.
 
TSU took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added one more run in the third to complete its victory.
 
Peyton Fointno reached on an error and went to second on a wild pitch. Nahtali Simpson tripled to right center and Fointno scored. Ryla Traylor's sacrifice fly scored Simpson to give the Tigers an early 2-0 lead.­
 
Fointno delivered a run-scoring single to push TSU's lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third.
 
SEMO had its best chance when it had the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, but Manus got out of the jam,
 
Manus (10-8) picked up her 10th win of the season.
 
Paytience Holman (1-5) took the loss. Holman gave up three runs on four hits and struck out one in three innings.
 
SEMO had just four hits. Wrigley led the way going 2-for-2 with a walk.
 
SEMO and TSU finish off their series at 1 p.m., CT Sunday.

MOREHEAD STATE 7, TENNESSEE TECH 3; MOREHEAD STATE 8, TENNESSEE TECH 1
COOKEVILLE, Tenn.
- The Eagles swept both ends of their doubleheader against Tennessee Tech Saturday, coming from behind to win the first game 7-3, before racing past the Golden Eagles in the second game 8-1. 
 
Jessie Begley tossed all 14 innings for Morehead State on the day, picking up two complete game wins to improve to 4-2 on the season. The freshman allowed only three earned runs on the day and walked only four of the 58 batters she faced. 
 
Emily Williams continued her torrid pace at the plate, reaching base all four times in the first game and wrapping up the doubleheader with two hits, four runs scored, and four RBI, including her sixth home run of the season. Trinity Spear chipped in with three hits and three RBI, Peyton Jordan added three hits of her own, to go with three runs scored and Kaytlyn Cripps brought home two runs in the first game. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
The Eagles opened the scoring with a two-out rally in the top of the first, featuring an RBI single from Taylor Rhea and RBI double from Kaytlyn Cripps to give Morehead State the early 2-0 advantage. 
 
Tennessee Tech quickly struck back with a two-run single in the bottom of the inning, and then took a 3-2 lead by scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the second. 
 
Both teams traded scoreless innings into the fifth, when the Eagles once again rallied with two outs. A Peyton Jordan single kept the inning alive, and Emily Williams gave Morehead State the lead with a three-run blast to make it 5-3. 
 
Morehead State would tack on two insurance runs in the top of the seventh with RBI singles from Peyton Jordan and Kaytlyn Cripps, giving the Eagles a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh. 
 
Tennessee Tech threatened with a pair of base runners in the bottom of the inning, but Begley stranded them to pick up the complete game victory. 

Tech's Savannah Talley went 2-for-3 while Nicolle Nysted drove in a pair. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2)
The Eagles started quickly, with a leadoff single from Trinity Spear. After Madeline Gailor reached on an error and Peyton Jordan drew a walk, Emily Williams, Taylor Rhea, and Erin Boyle all drew bases loaded walks to open a 3-0 lead for the team. 
 
Taikibrea Campbell kept the line moving with a two-out RBI single and Trinity Spear blew the game open with a bases clearing three RBI triple to vault the Eagles into a 7-0 advantage. 
 
Tennessee Tech responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning but were held off the scoreboard over the next six innings by Begley.
 
The Eagles added an insurance run in the seventh when Erin Boyle doubled and was brought home by an RBI groundout from Ilencia Lightbody. 
 
Begley retired the Golden Eagles in order for her second complete game of the day. 
 
Tennessee Tech's Haeli Bryson and Abby Buettner each had a pair of hits to lead the team.
