Allie Goodin and Southeast Missouri's
Aubrie Shore shared the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year award while Eastern Illinois'
Olivia Price was tabbed the 2023 OVC Pitcher of the Year as voted on by the league's head coaches and communication directors. EIU's
Kendall Grover earned OVC Freshman of the Year honors while the Redhawks'
Mark Redburn was named the OVC Coach of the Year.
A native of Evansville, Ind., Goodin, had a league-leading 34 hits and 30 RBIs in OVC play. She posted a .430 batting average and a .759 slugging percentage in Conference action to rank third. The All-OVC first team pick finished in the top five of the league with 8 doubles (4th) and 6 home runs (5th) in Conference play. She becomes the first Screaming Eagle to win the award.
Shore, a native of Mahomet, Ill., ranked second in the league with a .781 slugging percentage and 27 runs batted in during OVC play. She posted a .406 batting average and a .487 in league action to rank fifth in the Conference. Shore, who was named to the All-OVC first team, also had six home runs during Conference play. She becomes the sixth Redhawk to earn this honor.
A product of Smiths Grove, Ky., Price finished OVC play with a league-leading 10 wins while ranking third with 81.1 innings pitched. The All-OVC first-team selection, she had 51 strikeouts in league action to rank fourth. Overall, Price led the league with a 1.92 earned run average. She becomes the third Panther to be named OVC Pitcher of the Year.
Grover, a freshman infielder from Mooresville, Ind., led the league with a .500 on-base percentage in league play. She finished the OVC season with nine doubles to rank second in the league. The All-OVC first team pick and All-Newcomer selection also ranked in the Conference's top 10 with a .400 batting average, a .686 slugging percentage, 19 runs scores, 20 hits and 20 RBI during league play. She becomes the first Panther to earn this award.
Redburn earned his third OVC Coach of the Year honor after leading his team to its eighth OVC regular season title. The Redhawks compiled a 20-2 league mark and went 28-12 overall. During OVC play, Southeast Missouri led the league in batting average (.344), hits (232), doubles (43), triples (13), slugging percentage (.517), on-base procedure (.427) and ERA (2.04) .
Joinng Goodin, Shore, Price and Grovers on the All-OVc first team are: Southeast Missouri sophomore pitcher Delaney Kell (Salem, Ill.), junior catcher Kat Sackett (Erie, Colo.) and junior outfielder Paige Halliwill (Mogadore, Ohio); SIUE sophomore infielder Paige Rocha (Platte City, Mo) and redshirt junior outfielder Lexi King (Goreville, Ill.); Morehead State freshman infielder (Louisville, Ky.); Southern Indiana sophomore pitcher Josie Newman (Indianapolis, Ind.); and UT Martin junior outfielder Kaci Fuller (Huntingdon, Tenn.)
Earning second team honors are: Eastern Illinois junior infielder Lindy Milkowski (Olathe, Kan.), sophomore outfielder Jaylen Prichard (Liberty, Texas) and senior utility player/designated player Rachel Kaufman (Seymour, Ind.); Southeast Missouri sophomore Sydney Dennis (Eureka, Mo.) and senior infielder Alyson Tucker (Farmington, Mo.); Tennessee State sophomore pitcher Caitlyn Manus (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and freshman catcher Onnika Spencer (Murfreesboro, Tenn.); UT Martin graduate student infielder Kaitlyn Kelley (Lexington, Tenn.), redshirt-junior outfielder Avry Blume (Belvidere, Ill.) and junior utility player/designated player Katie Dreiling (Jonesboro, Ark.); Lindenwood sophomore outfielder Irelynn West (Kansas City, Mo.); and SIUE junior pitcher Sydney Baalman (Hardin, Ill.).
Joining Grover on the All-Newcomer team are: Morehead State freshman pitcher (Somerset, Ky.) and freshman infielder Emily Williams (Louisville, Ky.); SIUE freshman pitcher Rylie Pindel (Las Vegas, Nev.) and sophomore infielder Paige Rocha (Platte City, Mo.); Tennessee State graduate student Nahtali Simpson (West Orange, N.J.) and freshman catcher Onnika Spencer (Murfreesboro, Tenn.); UT Martin junior pitcher Brooklynn Linneman (Cleves, Ohio) and Keirsten Nixon (O'Fallon, Mo.); Eastern Illinois junior outfielder Aryn Henke (Columbia, Ill.); Lindenwood freshman infielder Dallis Darnell (Troy, Mo.); and Southeast Missouri junior outfielder Zoe Schulte (Wentzville, Mo.).
