EASTERN ILLINOIS 1, WRIGHT STATE 1
CHARLESTON, Ill. - The Eastern Illinois men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Wright State on Tuesday afternoon. The game marks the second draw of the Panthers in the season as they move to 1-2-2 overall record. The Raiders are now 0-2-3 on their season.
EIU started the match taking advantage of the counters as Wright State kept possession most of the time. The first opportunity came in the 15th minute when Sam Eccles forced their goalkeeper to make a good save to avoid EIU's first goal. The Panthers kept creating good opportunities with quick transitions into the attacking half. In the 29th minute, Eccles found a beautiful long distance shot to give EIU the lead at halftime. He was assisted by Casey Welage.
Still in the first half, Julian Smith, Casey Welage, and Jude Spallinger added a shot each as the Panthers led the number of shots 7-5 at halftime.
In the second half, as the Raiders looked for the equalizing goal, they did not hesitate to play forward and force the game in the Panther's defensive zone. Although the Panthers showed good organization defensively, they were not able to hold off the Raiders' attack, and in the 57th minute, Jacob Adams put Wright State on the scoreboard, 1-1.
Goalkeeper Whelan Joseph made five saves with four of them being in the second half.
Wright State ended the match outshooting the Panthers, 16-9.
LIBERTY 3, LONGWOOD 1
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Returning to the pitch for the first time since Sept. 3, the Liberty Flames defeated the Longwood Lancers 3-1 Tuesday evening in a non-conference match at Osborne Stadium.

Liberty then went on to shut down the Longwood attack, not allowing a shot attempt the rest of the way to close out the victory.
