BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
- The Chicago State men's soccer team continued scoring late in matches, this time Calwayne Allen scored in the 82nd minute to pull the Cougars into a 1-1 tie and the match would end draw Sunday afternoon against the Belmont Bruins.

In the first half, the Bruins came out pressing the Cougars and forcing them to defend. Belmont eventually fired in the opener and led 1-0 at the 28-minute mark.

The Cougars managed to retaliate. producing six shots with five of them on goal yet were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net and trailed 1-0 at the break.

At the start of the second half, Chicago State maintained their offensive productivity which eventually led to a strike from Calwayne Allen which found the back of the net to tie the match with only eight minutes left at 1-1.

Both sides then picked up the pace in order to bag a winner however were unsuccessful as the match finished at the deadlock with a score of 1-1.

BRADLEY 2, EASTERN ILLINOIS 1
CHARLESTON, Ill.
- Eastern Illinois men's soccer fights hard, but ends the day defeated 2-1 against Bradley. The Panthers are now 1-1 on the season while the Braves moved to 3-0-1.
 
On a sunny afternoon of soccer at Lakeside Field, Eastern Illinois and Bradley showed that both teams came to play as the game was full of physical battles from minute one. The first scoring opportunity did not come until the 20th minute, when goalkeeper Chad Smith made his first save of the day. The Panthers fought back with a few crosses and shots that brought some danger to the Brave's defense, but not enough to take the lead. In the 30th minute, Bradley broke through EIU's defense with Caleb Ribeiro scoring the first goal of the match. Five minutes later, Francesco Pettinaroli found the goal that would give Bradley the 2-0 lead at halftime.
 
The second half started just as physical as the first half ended. In total, four EIU players received yellow cards while two yellow cards were shown to BU, which gave the match a total of six yellow cards. Apart from the physical battles, EIU tried to apply some pressure into the Brave's defense in search of its first goal. The Braves could hold EIU's offense up until the 87th minute, when sophomore Adrian Lechuga found the back of the net with a beautiful shot from outside of the eighteen-yard box. He was assisted by William Bruce.
 
EIU ended the match with 7 shots while Bradley had 13 shots. Goalkeeper Chad Smith had a total of three saves in net for the Panthers.

HCU 1, UAB 1
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
- HCU got late heroics from Sam Zeeman and Alex Aitken to pull even and stay there, earning a 1-1 draw with host UAB at the Soccer for the Cure Classic on Sunday afternoon at Goldfarb Field.

Zeeman got downfield on a breakaway and Kevin Yamna fed him with a beautiful through ball from just inside midfield. Zeeman would then win a 1v1 to put home the equalizer at the 88:12 mark, knotting the game at one and giving him his first goal of the season and second of his career.

Aitken would then turn away two shots in the final 1:07, the first from Teodor Thorvaldsen, then with just 26 seconds remaining, a blast from Ohad Buck, preserving the road stalemate.

The Huskies were outshot on the afternoon 17-8, including 8-4 on goal, but got the one when they needed it most. HCU grabbed 12 corners to just three for the Blazers.

Kharrel Medza and Ryan Okerayi had two shots apiece, while Aitken made seven saves against eight shots on goal.

LIBERTY 2, NAVY 1
ANNAPOLIS, Md.
- Luke Eberle and Bryce Swinehart each scored goals as the Liberty Flames defeated the Navy Midshipmen 2-1 Sunday evening at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

Making the second start of his career, Owen Moore recorded a career-high seven saves for the Flames.

Eberle gave Liberty a 1-0 advantage on a penalty kick early in the first and Swinehart tallied his first goal of the season less than three minutes into the second half. It was his second goal of the season (both coming on PK's).

Liberty wins its first road match of the season and moved to 3-1 on the year. Navy falls to 2-2 on the season.

The match was a meeting between preseason conference favorites. Liberty was selected to win the Ohio Valley Conference by its conference’s coaches and Navy was picked to capture the Patriot League crown by the league’s coaches.
