MOBILE, Ala. - University of Southern Indiana Baseball was shutout, 11-0, by the University of South Alabama to finish the road Monday in Mobile, Alabama. USI is 0-4 to start the season, while South Alabama is 4-0 after the first week of the season.
The USI offense was stuck in neutral despite pounding out eight hits. The Screaming Eagles was 0-9 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base.
South Alabama bats, however, got right to work this afternoon, pounding out three runs in the second, two in the third, and one int the fourth to take a 6-0 lead. The Jaguars would add five in the seventh to seal the 11-0 final score.
On the mound, junior right-hander Tyler Hutson (Villa Hills, Kentucky) took the loss for USI in his first start of the year. Parson gave up five runs, three earned, on three hits and two walks in 2.1 innings of work.
