MISSOURI STATE 10, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 3
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.
-  Southeast Missouri Baseball (14-15, 5-1 OVC) fell on Tuesday afternoon to Missouri State (11-15, 1-5 MVC) by a final score of 10-3 at Hammons Field.
 
The Redhawks struggled offensively, registering only five hits by five different Redhawks and scored just three runs. Third baseman Caleb Corbin recorded the only RBI of the game in the first inning.
 
SEMO jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after a leadoff single by second baseman Brooks Kettering got the game started. Short stop Ben Palmer laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Kettering over and reached base via an error to put runners on first and second.
 
A 2-out RBI single from third baseman Caleb Corbin plated Kettering and the Redhawks scored the first run of the game after doing it all weekend against SIUE.
 
MSU would respond in the home half with three solo home runs to give the Bears a 3-1 lead after an inning of play.
 
LHP Ethan Osborne settled in over the next two innings, holding MSU to zero runs. The Bears would load the bases as part of a four-run fourth inning and took a 7-1 lead into the fifth inning.
 
Designated hitter Keoni Coloma led off the fifth inning with a triple to the left center gap to put the Redhawks' second run, 90-feet from the plate. A wild pitch would score him and after the SEMO fifth, the Redhawks trailed 7-2.
 
SEMO scored the three run of the game on the double steal with Stauss on first and Palmer on third base. Stauss broke for second allowing Palmer to come across to score the final run of SEMO's day.
 
MSU would score two runs in the bottom of the fifth and another in the sixth to win the game.

SAINT LOUIS 5, SIUE 4 (10)
ST. LOUIS
- Saint Louis scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat SIUE baseball 5-4 Tuesday at the Billiken Sports Complex.

The Cougars fell to 9-20. SLU improved to 20-6.

Zeus Ponder (2-2) pitched the last two-thirds of an inning and suffered the loss.

Saint Louis scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings after the Cougars took the lead in the top of the inning.

The Cougars trailed 3-1 before scoring three runs in the inning. Mack Mitchell led off with a double before Lucas Spence walked. Chase Bloomer drove home a run with a double and moved to second base on a wild pitch. A second consecutive wild pitch allowed Spence to score the game-tying run and Bloomer to move to third. Ethan Willoughby gave SIUE its first lead with a sacrifice fly on a foul ball down the right field line.

The Billikens got on the board with two hits in the first inning against SIUE starter Tyler DeLong. DeLong worked only the one inning. He struck out one.

The Cougars tied the score with a run in the second inning. Gage Franck and Sean Kang opened the inning with back-to-back singles. Franck went to third on a fielder's choice and scored on a sacrifice fly by Zack Floyd.

The Billikens loaded the bases on a hit and two walks in the fifth before scoring on a bases loaded walk. They added a second run on a sacrifice fly for the 3-1 lead.

Matthew Gist worked three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He struck out four.

Andrew Ressler added a scoreless inning of relief with a strikeout.

Saint Louis outhit SIUE 8-7. Kang was 2-4 at the plate to lead the Cougars.

Spence was 1-4 with a run scored. He extended his team-leading hitting streak to 14 games, which is the longest active streak in the Ohio Valley Conference.

SOUTHERN INDIANA 10, MURRAY STATE 5
MURRAY, Ky.
- University of Southern Indiana Baseball scored eight times in the first three innings and cruised to a 10-5 win over Murray State University Tuesday evening in Murray, Kentucky. USI is 13-15 overall, while Murray State goes to 18-10.
 
USI senior first baseman Tucker Ebest (Austin, Texas) put the Screaming Eagles on the scoreboard in the first inning with a two-run double for the quick 2-0 lead. The Eagles finished the first frame by adding a third tally as senior catcher Tyler Kapust (Sellerburg, Indiana) laced a RBI-single through the right side for the 3-0 advantage.
 
After the Racers wasted little time in closing the gap to 3-2 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning, USI got both runs back in the top of the third. Kapust struck again to put USI up 5-2 with his second and third RBIs of the game on a single up the middle.
 
USI junior second baseman Lane Crowden (Jackson, Missouri) continued the third inning rally with a two-run double to right field, while senior rightfielder Ren Tachioka (Japan) followed with a RBI-single up the middle to finish the frame and put the Eagles up 8-2.
 
The Racers put a run across in the plate in the third and fourth to close the gap to 8-4. USI sophomore second baseman Caleb Niehaus (Newburgh, Indiana) re-extended the lead to five, 9-4, with a solo shot in the top of the sixth. The home run was Niehaus' first of the season.
 
USI would seal the 10-5 victory in the top of the ninth when junior centerfielder Terrick Thompson-Allen (Sioux City, Iowa) hit solo home run to right field after Murray State had drawn to within four with a tally in the sixth.
 
On the mound, junior right-hander Carson Seeman (Auburn, California) picked up the win in relief. Seeman (2-1) blanked the Racers over two innings and struck out two in two innings.
 
USI senior right-hander Trent Robinson (Louisville, Kentucky) started and picked up the no-decision for the Eagles. Robinson was touched for four runs, three earned, on five hits and three walks, while striking out two in three innings.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 8, LINDENWOOD 2
CARBONDALE, Ill. -
The Lindenwood baseball team dropped a midweek game with Southern Illinois University (19-10) by a score of 8-2 on Tuesday night in Carbondale, Ill.

The Salukis jumped on the Lions early with five runs in the first to take a 5-0 lead after an inning of play. After SIUE added one more in the second, Lindenwood got on the board in the fourth as James Jett smacked a one-out double and Filip Sarota drove him in with an RBI single, his sixth RBI of the season.

SIU extended its lead with two more runs in the fifth, but Lindenwood responded with one in the sixth as Bryson Arnette smacked his third round tripper of the year to make the score 8-2 in favor of the Salukis. The Lions were unable to get much going offensively in the later innings, falling by that 8-2 score.

Bennett Stice and Daniel Darin combined for four innings of shoutout baseball out of the pen, while the duo combined for six strikeouts. The Lions finished the night with two runs on six hits, while Arnette and Sarota had the RBI's

LOUISIANA TECH 7, LITTLE ROCK 6
RUSTON, La.
- The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team fell to Missouri in a 13-3 setback in Game 1 of its midweek series against the Southeastern Conference opponent.
 
Andrew Fernandez and Blaze Bell hit solo home runs while Hunter McLean recorded his fifth multi-hit game of the season. Mac Danford also drove in a run while Zac Rice landed a base knock for the Skyhawks (11-18) offensively.
 
Choyce Diffey (2-3) began the game for UT Martin and was followed by Zach Wager (two innings), Tucker Reed (one inning), Davis Benton (one inning) and Sam Smith (0.2 frames).
 
The Skyhawks would take an early lead thanks to a Zac Rice leadoff single. After a walk drawn by Will Smith, UT Martin would pull off a double steal that put a pair of runners in scoring position. Danford followed with an RBI groundout to put the Skyhawks on top, 1-0.
 
The Tigers (11-18) scored twice in the bottom of the first but Diffey would hurl a scoreless frame in the second. After Missouri tallied three runs in the bottom of the third, UT Martin got two runs back in the top of the fourth. Fernandez launched a solo homer to begin the half-inning before Bell cranked a longball just six pitches later, making the score 5-3.
 
 Wager entered in the home half of the fourth and produced a perfect frame on just eight pitches. However, the Tigers scored twice in the fifth as part of eight unanswered runs to close out the contest.

MISSOURI 13, UT MARTIN 3
COLUMBIA, Mo.
- The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team fell to Missouri in a 13-3 setback in Game 1 of its midweek series against the Southeastern Conference opponent.
