LITTLE ROCK 89, SOUTHERN INDIANA 83 OT
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - With 8:35 to play in regulation, Little Rock trailed by seven and its junior star guard Faith Lee fouled out with 27 points. A win didn't seem likely. However, the Trojans battled back to force overtime and take an 89-83 victory against Southern Indiana Sunday afternoon at the Jack Stephens Center. The win was the fourth straight for the Trojans.
Jordan Holman led the way in overtime finishing with 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Sug Williams pitched in with 16 points and 4 steals, while Emerald Parker owned the paint scoring 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Holman and Lee, who had three steals, have scored in double-figures in all Ohio Valley Conference matchups this season.
With just 30 seconds left in regulation, Holman drained a three-pointer, giving the Trojans a two-point lead. USI's Ali Sauders responded with a lay in to tie the game.
Little Rock (7-8, 5-1) had the ball with 20 seconds left and held for a final shot but couldn't convert.
Holman made a quick statement to start overtime with a three-pointer, which ignited a Little Rock 5-0 run in just the first minute of extra session.
Little Rock began to pull away after a long jumper from reserve Annemarie Batista with just 21 seconds left, giving the Trojans an 87-83 lead. Officials reviewed the play to determine if it was a three-pointer, but the replay was inconclusive keeping the shot as a two-point field goal.
Holman iced the game with two free throws making the final score 89-83.
Southern Indiana (12-5, 4-2) was led by Meredith Raley with 25 points and Triniti Ralston with 16 points.
