MISSOURI 14, LINDENWOOD 10
COLUMBIA, Mo.
- The Lindenwood baseball team (4-5) dropped a midweek contest to the University of Missouri (4-4) by a score of 14-10.

Lindenwood jumped on the Tigers early with a four spot in the first inning. Kam Edwards led off with a single and the first three Lions reached base. After a pair of walks brought home two runs, Sam Grunberg singled to bring home two more, making the score 4-0.

Mizzou got two runs back on a home run in the bottom of the second, and added one more in the fourth to make it a 4-3 game. The Tigers kept chipping away and eventually took the lead, 6-4 with three in the fifth. Lindenwood answered right back in the top of the sixth, however. With two outs, Evan Funkhouser doubled, and after a pair of walks, Tyler Thompson drove in two, knotting the game at 6 in the sixth. Mizzou retook the lead with one in the bottom half of the inning.

The Tigers extended their lead with a leadoff homer in the seventh and would add four more in the frame to take a 12-6 lead. Lindenwood battled back, however as Edwards doubled home two runs in the eighth. The Lions would push one more across, cutting the deficit to 12-9. Mizzou put two more on the board in the bottom of the inning, making the score 14-9.

Lindenwood loaded the bases in the ninth and got within 14-10 after Jake Radosevich walked to bring home Bryson Arnette. That's as close as the Lions would get, falling by that score on Tuesday night.

SAINT LOUIS 9, SIUE 2
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.
-  SIUE baseball dropped its home opener Tuesday, falling 9-2 to Saint Louis at Simmons Baseball Complex.

Saint Louis (3-4) scored seven times over the last three innings to snap a 2-2 tie.

SIUE (2-5) scored the first run of the game, taking advantage of an error in the first inning. Chase Bloomer led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on an error. He scored on a ground out by Ryan Niedzwiedz.

Saint Louis scored twice in the third to lead 2-1, but the Cougars answered in the bottom of the inning. The Cougars loaded the bases on an error and consecutive hit batters. Kyle Ratlif drove a sacrifice fly to right field to score Bloomer with the tying run.

The Billikens scored three times in the seventh against SIUE reliever Alex Rodriguez and then scored four times in the top of the ninth against Andrew Ressler. Rodriguez (1-1) took the loss.

Kyle Athmer started the game and worked four innings allowing two runs. He struck out five. Liam McKillop pitched two scoreless innings in relief, striking out two. Tyler Davis also worked 2/3 of an inning scoreless. He struck out one.

Freshman Brennan Grams made his collegiate debut, closing out the ninth inning with a strikeout.

The Cougars finished with just three hits. Bloomer finished 2-4 with the two runs.

MURRAY STATE 18, UT MARTIN 7
MURRAY, Ky.
- The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team took an early lead but fell 18-7 to Murray State at Johnny Reagan Field.

Brody Capps (home run, two RBI), Jonah Katsaboulas (RBI) and Arderrius Townsend (homer, two RBI, stolen base) collected multi-hit games for the Skyhawks, who are now 3-4. Jordan Hudson (stolen base), Garner Anderson (walk), Jalen Fithian (double), Cameron Greene (double, walk), TJ Grines (stolen base, run scored), JT Popick (run scored) and Blaze Bell (run scored) added on to the UT Martin offense.

On the mound, Quincy Thornton started the game and went 3.1 innings with two strikeouts while Mason Shropshire (1-1), Austin Gast, Brock Arender, Shawn Perez, Aidan Karns and Rett Edwards each spent time on the mound.

Capps opened up the scoring with a two-run shot to right field. The Racers would get one back in the home half but Townsend drilled a two-run homer over right field wall to make it 4-1 in favor of the Skyhawks. Thornton worked back-to-back clean innings, leaving three runners stranded and allowing just one hit.

Murray State (4-0) claimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth and wouldn’t relinquish it. Arender took to the bump in the fifth for his season debut and fired off a scoreless frame. The Racers added on to their lead during the sixth, but the Skyhawks wouldn’t go down without a fight.

UT Martin loaded the bases after Katsaboulas brought in a run on a single, Bell reached first on an error and Townsend was hit by a pitch in the seventh. Frank Micallef wore a hit by pitch to drive in Katsaboulas and put a three-spot on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh. However, the Skyhawk rally attempt fell short.

#12 VANDERBILT 16, TENNESSEE TECH 3
NASHVILLE
- A fast start wasn't enough for the Tennessee Tech baseball team to pull out the win Tuesday evening, as the Golden Eagles fell to No. 12 Vanderbilt at Hawkins Field in Nashville, 16-3, in seven innings.

The purple and gold (6-3) burst out of the gates with the bats, producing a two-out rally in the first to plate a pair for a 2-0 lead. Catcher Mack Whitcomb led the charge, ripping a base knock to left field to keep the innings alive.

Right fielder Jorsixt Jimenez followed by methodically drawing an eight-pitch walk. Delivering the big swing of the night for the Cookeville crew was designated hitter Riley Black, who laced a two-run double down the left-field line on a full count.

Vanderbilt (8-1) promptly responded to kick off a dominant offensive showing on the night, scoring four times on two hits in the bottom of the first for a 4-2 lead. The Commodores' patience was on full display all game, with the Vandy Boys piling up 13 free passes.

The measured approach at the plate allowed the Dores to score once in the second, five times in the third, four times in the fourth, and twice more in the fifth. For the night, Vandy scored 16 times with nine hits.

Tech got back on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh, thanks to first baseman Carter Vrabel and his lead-off free pass. The senior moved over to second on a wild pitch before second baseman Eddie Garza's fly out to center field advanced him to third. One more offering that missed the catcher and provided Vrabel the opportunity to plate the Golden Eagles' final run of the game.

On the mound, sophomore hurler Drew Mattox tossed up a frame of work without allowing a hit or an earned run. Rookie Jaxon Pridgen covered the final two outs of the fifth inning, striking out a pair. Senior right-hander Houston High delivered a scoreless sixth for the Cookeville crew, facing the minimum with a punch-out.
