MIAMI, Fla. 
- Eastern Illinois softball split a pair of games on day two of the FIU Softball Classic in Miami, Fla.   EIU beat Toledo 9-1 in the opener before falling 7-1 to Bradley in the second game of the day as EIU is now 7-12 overall.

Eastern Illinois broke open a close game with three runs in the fourth and then three decisive runs in the sixth to beat Toledo 9-1 in six innings.
 
McKenzie Oslanzi (4-6) tossed a complete game allowing only one unearned Toledo run in the first inning.  Oslanzi scattered six hits and stranded Toledo runners at third base in the fourth and sixth innings.
 
Leading 2-1 entering the fourth inning, EIU loaded the bases with one out and scored its first run on a wild pitch.  Abbey Crain drove home the next two runs of the inning with a single to left center.
 
In the sixth Maddux Marshall led off the inning drawing her third walk of the game.  Crain followed with a walk with both players scoring on a single to right by Alisha Frederick.  Frederick was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the game.
 
Jenna Teakert drove home the run to end the game with a single to right.  Kendall Grover joined Frederick as Panthers with multiple hits in the game going 2-for-4.
 
Kylee Graham (2-4) took the loss for the Rockets as they fell to 5-6 this season.  Samantha Bolding was 3-for-3 to lead the Toledo offense.
 
Bradley jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning providing Braves starter Sydney Kenne (4-6) all the offensive support she needed during a 7-1 win over EIU.
 
Kenne held the Panthers to just one hit with Alisha Frederick leading off the fourth with a double to left center.  After moving to third on a sacrifice bunt by Brianna Gonzalez, Karson Davey grounded out to drive in the Panthers lone run.
 
Kendall Grover and Marshall Maddux were the only other two Panthers to reach base with both hit by pitches.
 
Morgan Schlo had the big first inning hit for the Braves driving in two runs with a single up the middle.  Olivia Turne drove in the next run in the inning.  Turne was 2-for-4 in the game, one of four Bradley players with multiple hits.
 
After scoring one run in the fourth, Bradley put the game away with three runs in the fifth.  Ashley Breed and Turne both had RBI in the inning.  Breed led the Braves with three hits.
 
Karlie McKenzie (2-3) took the loss for EIU.  Bradley improved to 6-11 on the season.

USC UPSTATE 4, SOUTHERN INDIANA 1

ROCK HILL, S.C. 
- University of Southern Indiana Softball split its two games at the Winthrop University Coach Cooke Memorial Tournament on Saturday, falling 4-1 to the University of South Carolina Upstate before capturing an 8-3 win over St. Bonaventure University.
 
Southern Indiana (3-10) began the morning against USC Upstate (17-2). The Spartans got the scoring started in the bottom of the second inning with a small-ball approach, scoring two runs on three singles and two stolen bases.
 
While USI got a few baserunners on in the early innings, the Eagles could not quite get momentum building toward a scoring threat. Meanwhile, freshman pitcher Kylie Witthaus settled in following the two-run second by the Spartans.
 
After Southern Indiana could not capitalize with runners at second and third in the top of the fifth inning, USC Upstate took advantage with two more runs toward a 4-0 lead off of three more singles in the frame and ending the start for Witthaus.
 
USI looked to rally in the seventh inning, getting the first batters to reach base and over to second and third with one out. An RBI groundout by sophomore outfielder Kate Satkoski got one runner home, but that was all USI could get.
 
Freshman first baseman Lilly Brown had two of USI's three hits against the Spartans. Witthaus (0-5) was dealt the loss after giving up four runs in 4.2 innings with a pair of strikeouts.
 
USC Upstate tallied its four runs on seven hits. Sophomore pitcher Sierra Maness (7-1) recorded the win in a complete-game effort.
 
In the second game against St. Bonaventure (3-4), Southern Indiana found itself with some first-inning production after some tough breaks already this season in the first inning. Sophomore infielder Sydney Long doubled in USI's first run after a leadoff single. Senior pitcher Josie Newman later scored Long with an RBI single to put USI ahead 2-0.
 
The Screaming Eagles tacked on two more runs in the second inning and had its biggest inning with three runs in the third inning. USI got an RBI single by junior outfielder Caroline Stapleton before Long ripped a two-RBI triple down the line to increase USI's lead to 7-0. All three runs in the third came with two outs.
 
The Bonnies tried to chip away at the Eagles' advantage. St. Bonaventure scored twice in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run triple of their own. The two sides traded a run in the sixth, as Southern Indiana closed out the win.
 
USI posted eight runs on 12 hits. Stapleton accounted for three hits and three runs with an RBI from the leadoff the spot. Long went 4-4 with three RBIs. Brown had another two-hit game with a pair of runs.
 
Newman (3-4) also recorded the pitching win, going the full seven innings with 10 strikeouts and three runs allowed.
 
St. Bonaventure registered its three runs on nine hits. The Bonnies used three pitchers in the game with starting freshman pitcher Nolah Moyer (1-2) getting the loss after surrendering four runs – three earned – in an inning and a third.

TENNESSEE STATE 10, BUFFALO 2 (5)
TENNESSEE STATE 6, WOFFORD 5

SPARTANBURG, S.C. 
- The Tennessee State softball team swept its competition on Saturday, defeating Buffalo 10-2 and then Wofford 6-5 in extra innings.

The  Tigers took a 2-1 lead in the first inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 10-2 victory over the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday.

Reina Castillo (5-3) started in the circle and picked up the win for Tennessee State (5-5). The right-hander went three innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits, allowing one walk and striking out one. Tianna Salcido also made an impact in the circle for the Tigers, throwing two shutout innings while allowing no hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.

The Tigers were trailing 1-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Tennessee State plated two runs when Onnika Spencer left the yard with Mikayla Duke aboard.

After the Bulls rallied to tie the ballgame at two, the Tigers came back to retake the lead in the second inning. The Tennessee State offense exploded for six runs, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Anayah Baker-Rowell and a two-run single from Jace Jackson, which brought the Tigers lead to 8-2.

Tennessee State held Buffalo scoreless before expanding their lead to 9-2 the following inning.

Tennessee State held the Bulls without a run before building on their lead in the fifth inning. The Tigers scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Jackson, bringing the Tennessee State advantage to 10-2. The score remained 10-2 for the rest of the game, as the Tigers coasted to the win.

The Tennessee State Tigers needed eight innings to finish the job, but earned the 6-5 extra-innings victory over the Wofford Terriers Saturday.

Reina Castillo (3-3) started in the circle and picked up the win for Tennessee State (6-5). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up five runs, four earned, on eight hits, allowing one walk and striking out two.

The Tigers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Tennessee State managed to push across two runs in the inning.

The Terriers failed to push any runs across before the Tigers built on their lead in the third inning. Tennessee State scored twice on Onnika Spencer's two-run homer, which brought the Tigers lead to 4-0.

Wofford came back to even the ballgame at four before Tennessee State reclaimed a 6-4 advantage in the eighth inning. The Tigers picked up two runs when a single from Alexis Woods scored Jace Jackson and Anayah Baker-Rowell. Wofford put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Tennessee State still held on for the 6-5 win.

LINDENWOOD 8, GREEN BAY 2
LINDENWOOD 2, VALPARAISO 1

ST. CHARLES, Mo. 
- Lindenwood softball (9-7, 0-0 OVC) goes 2-0 on Saturday and a perfect 4-0 on the weekend at the Lindenwood Invitational. The Lions started the day with an offensive showing winning 8-2 over Green Bay (4-8, 0-0 HL) before walking off in the seventh inning against Valparaiso (6-5, 0-0 MVC) by a final score of 2-1.

Lindenwood started the day with a 8-2 victory over Green Bay in game one of Saturday's double header. The Lions scored eight runs, their most runs against a Division I opponent this season. LU scored their eight runs on 11 hits with two errors while Green Bay scored two runs on five hits with one error.

Four different Lions had multiple hits in the game including Dallis Darnell who went 2-2 with a team-high four RBI after a bases clearing triple in the fifth inning. Nicole Henson also had two hits and two RBI singles in the game. Jolie McMinn and Madisen Noll each had two hits.

Ryleigh Owens (W, 3-2) picked up her third win of the season after throwing 6.0 innings allowing two runs on five hits with one strikeout. In her first action of the season, Molly Heidrick threw the final 1.0 inning putting up zeros on the scoreboard.

Green Bay got the action going on an unearned run in the first inning on a throw to home. Lindenwood responded in the bottom of the second inning with two runs on two hits. After Anna Sanders and Emily Geary reached safely, Henson and Darnell posted back-to-back RBI singles to put the Lions ahead 2-0.

After Noll scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning (3-1 LWU), Lindenwood would score five runs in the fifth to go up 8-1. With the bases load, Henson drove in her second RBI of the day with a infield single. Darnell then delivered a bases clearing three RBI triple. Irelynn West then delivered an RBI single through the left side to put the Lions up seven.

Green Bay added one more run in the sixth inning before Heidrick shut down the Phoenix to secure the Lions' eighth win of the season.

Lindenwood used a defensive effort in game two as they walked-off the Beacons after an RBI single from Teryn Brown capped off the perfect weekend for the Lions. Lindenwood did not record a hit until the fifth inning but were able to sweep Valpo for the season series.

Brown and Lauren Pelton delivered the two RBI for the Lions. Samantha Roulanaitis threw the first 2.2 innings in game two before Avery Wapp (W, 4-2) picked up the win in relief posting four strikeouts allowing just one hit.

Valparaiso struck first in the first inning after an error by Roulanaitis on the mound allowed both runners to advance, scoring one run. The Beacons held the Lions without a hit until the fifth inning of play. Noll singled up the middle for the first hit before Pelton drove her in with a pinch-hit RBI double to right field.

After the Lions had the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Brown delivered a gap shot to right field to bring home Sanders as the Lions captured a 2-1 victory.

KENTUCKY 4, TENNESSEE TECH 3
EVANSVILLE 9, TENNESSEE TECH 6

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. 
- The Tennessee Tech softball team had two close contests on Saturday as the Golden Eagles saw two defeats coming in the seventh inning.

Tech almost toppled Southeastern Conference foe Kentucky, falling 4-3 on a walkoff, then Evansville scored three runs in the top of the seventh to beat the Golden Eagles 9-6.

The Golden Eagles (6-10) close out the WKU Hilltopper Spring Fling on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m., taking on the host Hilltoppers.

Lainey Fitzgerald got the start against the Wildcats, allowing just two runs on six hits over four frames, walking two and striking out two. Addison Abell had a scoreless fifth, then Emily York took the loss, allowing two runs in the bottom of the seventh as she gave up six hits.

Tech scored the game's first run in the second with Ella Bishop driving in Abbee Klinefelter on a ground ball to short. A second run scored in the third as Olivia Evans crossed the plate off a Sydney Kirby single to center field coupled with an error.

Kentucky tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fifth with a leadoff home run and an RBI single. The Golden Eagles pulled back ahead in the top of the seventh as Julie Martin, pinch-running for Jailynn Paderez, scored on an error at short.

A double and three straight singles tied the game and gave Kentucky the victory in the bottom of the seventh.

Evans was 2-for-4 at the plate, while Kirby, Klinefelter and Bishop had the other hits for the Golden Eagles. Evans ended the day batting 3-for-7 with two RBI and a run scored.

In game two, Kyleigh Pitzer threw the first two innings, allowing four runs on four hits, walking two and striking out one. Hannah Lange threw four complete, allowing four runs – three earned – on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Payton Wagner took the tough-luck loss, allowing one run on two hits in the final inning, striking out three.

Evans drove In two runs as she went 1-for-3, Makayli Harris went 2-for-3, while Klinefelter, Ashley Capelouto, Paderez, Bishop and Martin each had a hit.

Evansville scored two runs each in the first and second to go up 4-0, but the Golden Eagles answered with three runs in the second. Bishop drove in Harris with a single through the left side, then Paderez and Bishop both scored on a wild pitch.

The Purple Aces extended the lead to 6-3 in the top of the fourth with a two-run single, then Tech scratched back a run in the bottom half to make it 6-4. Evans drove in pinch-runner Skylar Sybesma with a single.

The Golden Eagles then knotted the score at 6 with two runs in the sixth with Evans driving in Martin with the grounder to short, then Klinefelter bringing in Alina Schlageter with a single into center field.

Evansville countered with three runs in the top of the seventh with two singles to right – one for a solo run, another for two. The Golden Eagles went 1-2-3 in the inning to close out the game.

#22 ALABAMA 7, SIUE 4
SIUE 4, UAB 3

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. 
- Piper Montgomery doubled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh Saturday night as SIUE softball defeated UAB at the Crimson Classic.

The Cougars have one more contest left at the Crimson Classic. They face Furman in a rematch at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Down 3-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh against UAB, SIUE's bats came alive. Lauren Yslava poked a single to right center field. Kaylynn Salyars doubled down the right field line, putting two runners in scoring position for Montgomery.

The Cougar senior delivered with a gap shot to right center, plating Yslava and Salyars for the victory.

SIUE is now 6-9 for the season while UAB dropped to 9-10.

McKayla Anderson went the distance for the Cougars. She yielded 11 hits in her second victory of the season.

Earlier in the day, host Alabama found itself backtracking late against the Cougars in a 7-4 contest.

Alabama was ahead 7-0 in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and one out, SIUE's Kiana Villa worked out of the jam and kept the game alive for the Cougars.

The Crimson Tide came into the game having win six straight games in five or six innings.

This time, not only did Alabama not equal that feat, the Cougars pushed back with four runs before it was over.

Anna Henderson collected an RBI groundout that scored Yslava. Juztyne Torres followed with a two-RBI single to right field that scored Raegan Duncan and Harley Limberger.

The Cougars pressed further in the seventh. When Salyars was looking to sacrifice bunt, Alabama catcher Marlie Giles threw the ball away, allowing Abby Harvell to score.

No. 22-ranked Alabama improved to 13-6. Avery Arwood took the loss for the Cougars.

#13 TENNESSEE 10, UT MARTIN 0 (5)
INDIANA STATE 4, UT MARTIN 0
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team could not seem to find their offensive groove, as it was no-hit twice Saturday as part of the 2025 Tennessee Invitational at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville.

The Skyhawks fell to 7th-ranked Tennessee, 10-0, in the opener, and 4-0 to Indiana State in the nightcap.

In game one against Tennessee, the Skyhawks ran into the buzzsaw known as the seventh-ranked Lady Vols. Karlyn Pickens threw a no-hitter against UT Martin, allowing only one walk while striking out 11 of the 16 batters she faced. Avary Makarewicz was the lone baserunner for the Skyhawks in the contest, drawing a walk on a 10-pitch at bat.

In game two against Indiana State, the Skyhawks could not get their bats going for the second game in a row. The Sycamores' Hailey Griffin no-hit UT Matin by striking out 10 and allowing just one base runner, Kyla Harley, who reached via error in the fourth inning.

TARLETON STATE 9, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 3
UL MONROE 5, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 4

MONROE, La. 
- Southeast Missouri (5-7) dropped two games in the Best on the Bayou Tournament Saturday. The Redhawks fell to Tarleton State, 9-3, and tournament host UL Monroe, 5-4.
  
TSU (13-6) hit a pair of three-run home runs to key its victory over SEMO in the first-ever meeting between the teams.
 
Down, 2-0, Tristyn Trull gave the Texans their first lead when she hit a three-run home run to left in the top of the third inning.
 
TSU added six more runs two innings later.
 
The Texans loaded the bases and scored their first three runs of the fifth inning on a RBI-single by Kalyn Hill and two-RBI hit by Hayden Fox. Jaelynn Duke then cleared the left field wall with a three-run home run to widen TSU's margin to 9-2.
 
The Redhawks tacked on one final run on a two-out single by Sydney Dennis.
 
SEMO started strong by knocking out TSU starting pitcher Kynlee Marquez in just one-third of an inning.
 
The first three Redhawks reached base with Tatum Gerwitz and Madison Winkler each drawing a walk and Dennis getting on with bunt single. 
 
With one out, Sydney Melton drove in Gerwitz and Winkler to put SEMO ahead, 2-0, in the bottom of the first.
 
Elliott Stinson (1-1) worked two innings in her third start of the season. Stinson allowed two runs on one hit, struck out four and walked three.
 
Willow Van Haren and Delaney Kell pitched behind Stinson.
 
Shelby Schultz allowed just one run on six hits, struck out six and walked one to earn the win in relief.
 
Dennis went 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI in her second three-hit game in three starts.
  
Carys Platt had a walk-off one-out single with the bases loaded to send ULM to its second one-run victory of the tournament over SEMO.
 
The Warhawks won their 11th game in a row and remained undefeated with a 10-0 record at home.
 
Tied, 3-3, Dennis hit a go-ahead RBI-single to score Gerwitz giving the Redhawks a 4-3 edge in the top of the seventh inning.
 
ULM then had the bases loaded with one out when pinch-hitter Jacelyn Buck walked on four pitches and Hollie Thomas scored the tying run. 
 
On the next play, Platt singled through the right side and Cheyenne Jenkins touched home to end the game.
 
SEMO struck first in its opening at-bat of the contest when Gracie Luna reached on a two-out bases loaded walk.
 
ULM tied the game in the bottom half of the first before the Redhawks regained the lead with two runs in the top of the third.
 
Freshman Addisyn Martinie knocked in Melton and Taryn Coon on a two-out triple to right center, the first of her career, putting SEMO ahead, 3-1.
 
The Warhawks knotted things up again in the bottom of the fourth. Morgan Brown hit a two-run home run to make it a 3-3 ballgame.
 
Maddie Carney (1-4) was credited with the loss in relief. Carney allowed one run and walked three in one-third of an inning.
 
Tegan Livesay started in the circle and pitched six innings. Livesay gave up four runs on six hits and struck out two.
 
Winkler and Dennis collected two hits each to lead SEMO.

AUSTIN PEAY 9, MOREHEAD STATE 1 (6)
NORTHERN KENTUCKY 10, MOREHEAD STATE 5

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 
- The Morehead State Eagles had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to home standing Austin Peay 9-1 despite the efforts of freshman Donato, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

MSU trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, when the host exploded for five runs,  bringing the game to an early end.

It was the Governors' program-best 13th consecutive win, while the Eagles dropped their eighth straight.

Freshman Rylie Burney (0-8) started and took the loss in the circle for Morehead State (1-16).

In the batter's box, the Eagles were led by Jordan Donato, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI. Freshman Ilencia Lightbody put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a double. Freshman first baseman Nyla Doiron also added a hit.

The Eagles were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put a run on the board. Morehead State got an RBI single from Donato, scoring freshman Lewis from third base. The Eagles were unable to get any closer, as Austin Peay added seven runs to their tally on the way to a 9-1 final

The Morehead State Eagles got three hits out of freshman Kendra Lewis in a 10-5 loss to Northern Kentucky on Saturday in their fourth game of the Governors Classic.

Freshman Emma Solis (1-6) got the ball to start for Morehead State (1-17) and pitched one of her best games, allowing seven runs on seven hits with a season-high 6 strikeouts, but suffered the defeat.

In addition to her three hits, Lewis had a walk and two RBI to lead the Eagles. Freshman Sela Pickford furnished a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. Freshman Collins also helped out Morehead State, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a double and a walk.

MSU tied its second-highest total this season with 10 hits. Seven of the team's nine batters recorded at least one. In addition to Lewis, sophomore outfielder Maddy Christopher collected two; while freshman designated player Victoria Collins, senior center fielder Darlene Montoay, senior catcher Ilencia Lightbody, sophomore shortstop Sale Pickford and junior second baseman Jordan Donato each had one. Freshman first baseman Nyla Doiron also contributed by drawing two walks and scoring.

The Eagles got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Pickford drove in two runs for Morehead State with a single, that scored Collins and Lewis.

The Norse failed to push any runs across before the Eagles offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning. Morehead State scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a two-run single off the bat of Lewis, which brought the score to 5-0 in favor of the Eagles. The Eagles were unable to hold the lead, as Northern Kentucky scored 10 times over the remaining five innings to grab the 10-5 win.
