EASTERN ILLINOIS 85, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 52
CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois went 10-of-16 from the floor in the opening ten minutes as the Panthers rolled out to a 27-10 first quarter lead. The Panthers continued their solid play as they picked up an 85-52 win over Southeast Missouri on Senior Day at Groniger Arena.
EIU wraps up the regular season at 18-11 overall, 15-5 in the OVC. SEMO finished the regular season at 6-23 overall, 4-16 in the OVC.
Macy McGlone started a big afternoon with a double-double in the first half with 16 points, 11 rebound as EIU led 46-24 at the break. McGlone finished the game with 27 points and 19 rebounds.
EIU's two other double figures scorers came off the bench with Sydney-James Desroches scoring 13 and Tiny Lewis adding ten. EIU shot 45.2 percent for the game with senior Kiyley Flowers passing out nine assists.
EIU's final seniors Jayda Johnston (8 pts), Alex Rouse (6 pts) and Ellie Colson all were honored prior to the game with McGlone and Flowers.
SEMO had three double figure scorers in the game with Zoe Best leading the Redhawks with 15 points. She knocked down three of SEMO's six 3-pointers in the game.
Ainaya Williams scored 11 points and Lexi McCully added ten for SEMO.
SIUE 81, LITTLE ROCK 76
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE had three players scoring in the double digits contributing to their 81-76 win over Little Rock.
The Cougars finished their season 6-23 overall and 4-16 in Ohio Valley Conference Play. The Trojans fell to 14-16 overall and 12-9 in OVC before entering the tournament next week.
Senior Molly Sheehan had a career high 23 points going 7-for-11 from the field and 5-for-9 from three-point range. Sofie Lowis matched her career-high six three-pointers made. She last hit this against Northern Illinois in the 2023 season. Lowis also had a season high 19 points. KK Rodriguez also had a career-high eight rebounds. Rodriguez put up 17 points going 8-for-18 from the field.
Ava Gugliuzza opened the scoring for the Cougars in the first quarter hitting a three-pointer with 5:36 to go.
The Trojans led the scoring for the for the first quarter, but Molly Sheehan made a three-pointer in the last 23 seconds cutting the lead to five points.
The score was tied the game five times in the second quarter when Sheehan hit another three-pointer giving the Cougars the lead (36-33).
Sug Williams was unable to break SIUE's lead after a pair of free throws before halftime making the score 41-38.
A n Ava Gugliuzza three-pointer put the Cougars ahead by 13 points, with 1:29 remaining in the third quarter.
Sofie Lowis made her fourth layup at the start of the fourth quarter giving the Cougars a 14-point lead, their largest of the game, with 9:23 to play.
Lowis made her sixth three-pointer of the game, tying her career-high against Northern Illinois in the 2023 season.
Little Rocks Jordan Holman banked a three-pointer closing SIUE's lead to three points, making the score 79-76 with .16 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The Cougars outlasted the Trojans winning the final game of their season 81-76.
As a team the Cougars made 50 percent (29-58) of their shots from the field. Last time the Cougars made 50 percent of their shots was against Morehead State Feb. 20. They also had 16 points off the bench, 18 points off turnovers and seven points off of fast breaks.
MOREHEAD STATE 100, UT MARTIN 77
MARTIN, Tenn. - The Morehead State women's basketball team placed six players in double figures and overwhelmed UT Martin 100-77 in the Eagles' season finale Saturday afternoon in Martin, Tenn.
Harley Paynter led the charge with a career-high 28 points, hitting six of her nine three pointer tries. Chrishawn Coleman added 16 points and dished out a career-high six assists. Michelle Ugwah and Kalise Hill finished with 12 points apiece. Kate Novik finished with 11 points and just missed her fourth career double-double with nine rebounds. Maia Rosarion added 10 points.
Morehead State (10-20/ 5-15 OVC) got off to a fast start, shooting 67% from the floor in the first quarter and led 26-21 after the first ten minutes. MSU then hit 73% in the second frame and led 51-40 at the half.
UT Martin (13-18/ 10-10 OVC) was cold from three-point range shooting just 30% from distance. The Skyhawks were led by Kenley McCarn with 15 points. Anaya Brown finished with 13 and Daejah Richmond added 12.
The offensive outburst marked the first time since December 2, 2010, the MSU women's team scored 100 points against an OVC team in a regulation game, when the Eagles put up 103 against UT Martin in Johnson Arena.
The last time Morehead State scored 100 points in an OVC road game was February 11, 1993, when the Eagles hung 110 up at Eastern Kentucky.
Last season, MSU lost to Eastern Illinois, 105-103; but that game went through four overtime periods, one of the longest women's college basketball games in history.

TENNESSEE STATE 73, SOUTHERN INDIANA 64
NASHVILLE - The Tennessee State women's basketball team got a 25-point performance from the bench on the way to a 73-64 victory against Southern Indiana at home Saturday.
The Tigers (10-20, 6-14 OVC) had three players score in double figures, led by Aaniya Webb, who had 17 points and six rebounds. XaiOnna Whitfield tacked on 15 points from the bench and Saniah Parker helped out with 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
The Tennessee State offense was strong from three-point land, making nine threes on 28 attempts. Webb hit five treys for the Tigers in the contest.
The Tennessee State defense held Southern Indiana shooters to just 37.7 percent from the field, including 28 percent from three-point range.
After jumping out to a 10-8 advantage, Tennessee State went on an 8-0 run with 3:58 left in the first quarter to increase its lead to 18-8. The Tigers then lost some of that lead, but still entered the quarter break with an 18-10 advantage. Tennessee State did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 10 of its 18 points close to the basket.
Tennessee State kept its first quarter lead intact before going on a 6-0 run starting at the 9:46 mark in the second period, highlighted by a three from Krystal Haddock, to increase its lead to 24-10. The Screaming Eagles cut into that lead, but the Tigers still enjoyed a 33-30 advantage heading into halftime. Tennessee State was strong from deep in the period, knocking down three three-point shots to account for nine of its 15 points.
Following intermission, Tennessee State continued to expand its advantage, pushing it to 44-40 before going on an 11-0 run to expand its lead further to 55-40 with 1:28 to go in the third. Before the conclusion of the third period, the Screaming Eagles had cut into that lead somewhat, but the Tigers still entered the fourth quarter with a 57-45 edge. Tennessee State's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled nine of the team's 24 third-quarter points.
The Tigers then held on for the victory in the fourth quarter. Tennessee State took advantage of seven Southern Indiana turnovers in the quarter, scoring four points off of those takeaways.
