EASTERN ILLINOIS 14, TENNESSEE TECH 3 (5)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Eastern Illinois softball scored in four of its five innings at-bat as the Panthers rolled to a 14-3 game three win at Tennessee Tech to sweep the weekend OVC series in Cookeville.
 
EIU improved to 19-16 overall, 11-3 in the OVC.  TTU fell to 11-26 overall, 4-11in the OVC.
 
The Panthers started with two runs in the first as Briana Gonzalez continued to swing a hot bat for the series driving in one of the two runs with an RBI double.  Gonzalez finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate, one of three Panthers with multiple hits in the win.
 
The offense continued with four runs in the third inning, five in the fourth inning and three to close out the fifth in the run-rule victory.
 
Gonzalez added an RBI for the first run of the third inning.  Morgan Hance followed with an RBI single.  It was one of four runs Hance drove in going 3-for-3.  Hance had a two-run single in the fourth and a one run single in the fifth.
 
Karson Davey went 2-for-2 at the plate to round out the Panthers with multiple hits.  McKenzie Oslanzi (10-9) pitched four innings for the win with Rylie Schipp closing out the final inning in relief.
 
Payton Wagner (1-9) took the loss for TTU as the starter in the circle.  Bella Ochoa and Abby Shoulders each had two hits to the lead the Golden Eagles offense.  Shoulders drove in one of TTU's runs in the fifth.  Sydney Kirby added the other RBI in the fifth with a sacrifice fly.
