BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech has been picked as the preseason favorite for the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference women’s soccer season.
The Golden Eagles picked up 14 of 20 first-place votes to tally 156 points, which was 10 points ahead of second place Lindenwood. The Lions capped off the 2024 season with the OVC tournament championship and picked up six first-place votes to collect 146 points. Little Rock was selected to finish third with 127 points. TTU enters the season looking to capture its third consecutive regular season championship.
Morehead State was picked fourth (103) and is followed by Eastern Illinois (86), Southern Indiana (78), SIUE (65), UT Martin (64), Southeast Missouri (57) and Western Illinois (18).
The 2025 season returns 15 members of the 2024 All-OVC team, including Midfielder of the Year Abby Reinl (EIU), Goalkeeper of the Year Peyton Urban (LR) and Freshman of the Year Mackenzie Compton (LWU).
This year marks the 27th OVC Championship Tournament. The event starts on campus sites with first round and quarterfinal matches on October 30 and November 2, with the No. 3 and No. 4 seed hosting matches.
The event switches to the site of the No. 1 seed the following weekend with semifinal and Championship matches on November 6 and 9.
