LYNCHBURG, Va. - Two second-half goals propelled the No. 21 UNCG Spartans past the Liberty 3-1, handing the Flames their first loss of the season Friday evening at Osborne Stadium.
Liberty tied the game 1-1 late in the first half as midfielder Aidan Morrison scored the Flames’ lone goal of the match during the 38th minute.
In the second half, the visiting Spartans took a 2-1 advantage during the 60th minute. Later, UNCG upped its lead to 3-1 during the 71st minute on Steven Hernandez’s second goal of the game.
Liberty drops to 4-1-2 on the year. UNCG moves to 5-1-1.

EDINBURG, Texas - The Lindenwood Men's Soccer team tied with UTRGV tonight by a score of 0-0. Quinn Closson recorded his second consecutive six save shutout as the Lions were out shot for the first time all season 14-9. Luca Bartoni led the Lions in shots with two, while Gavin Csiszar and Bartoni recorded the only two shots on goal tonight.
In the first half, Closson would keep the game tied at zero as he recorded five of his six saves in the opening 45 minutes. All five shots that UTRGV had in the first half were on target. Lindenwood had four shots in the first half, all of which would be off target. In the second half, the Lions would put the pressure on the Vaqueros as Josh Francombe shot the ball off the top of the goalpost in the 47th minute, followed by Csiszar recording a shot on goal in the 48th minute that led to a corner kick for Lindenwood. On the corner kick, Bartoni recorded a shot on goal but the UTRGV goalkeeper would keep the game knotted at zero with a save.
In the 89th minute, UTRGV would recieve a red card which gave the Lions their first pentaly kick of the season. Ethan Blake took the penalty and would miss the kick as the game would end in a 0-0 tie.
