EASTERN ILLINOIS 4, WESTERN ILLINOIS 0
MACOMB, Ill. - Junior Alex Tetteh had a day for the Eastern Illinois women's soccer team posting not only her second career hat trick but going one better than that total with four goals during the Panthers 4-0 win at Western Illinois.

The four goals tied the EIU school record previously held by both Tracie Strother (1996 vs Little Rock) and Beth Aussin (1996 vs Lewis).  Tetteh became the eighth Ohio Valley Conference player to score four goals in a match to etch her name in the conference record book, the last was by SIUE's Kayla Delgado in 2013.

Tetteh opened the scoring innocently enough with a left-footed goal in the seventh minute on a cross by Ashlyn Nobles.

EIU led 2-0 at the half with Tetteh's second goal coming midway through the opening half off an assist by Camylle Graves in the 28th minute.

The hat trick came in the 50th minute as Tetteh redirected a loose ball in front of the net on a solid shot sent into the box by Abby Reinl.

The record tying goal came nine minutes later in the 59th minute as Tetteh sent a header to the upper right corner off a pass sent into the box by Brooklynn Greene.

EIU ended the match with 15 total shots, eight of them coming from Tetteh as EIU improved to 5-4-2 on the season, 2-0 in the OVC.  It is the best start to a conference season for EIU since 2013 when EIU opened the year 4-0 in OVC action.

Ella Kratochvil posted her fourth straight shutout as she moved into fifth place on the EIU career shutouts list with 11.  Kratochvil made two saves in the match.

Western Illinois dropped to 1-11 overall, 0-2 in the OVC.  Hana Daoudi and Elise Grant had the shots on goal for the Leathernecks.

LITTLE ROCK 1, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.
- Southeast Missouri State (0-10-1, 0-1-1 OVC) and Little Rock (2-3-4, 0-0-2 OVC) ended in a 1-1 draw on Thursday at Houck Stadium. The Redhawks earned head coach John Klein's first result of his division I career and earned a point in the Ohio Valley Conference table.

The visitors' Jaeda Centeno scored in the 9th minute, putting Little Rock ahead 1-0. Southeast Missouri State equalized in the 28th minute with a goal by Hayley Hogenmiller, assisted by Rachel Kretzer and Emma Cloud. Holly Rimmer made a crucial save against a bottom center shot by Maggie Turner in the 23rd minute, maintaining the tied score. Both teams entered halftime at a 1-1 deadlock, with each side converting one goal in the first half.

Maggie Turner from Little Rock initiated an early offensive with a shot at 48:33, although it was off target. Hogenmiller forced a save from Peyton Urban at 55:01 with a shot aimed at the bottom left. Madison Geisler made crucial saves for the Redhawks, stopping multiple attempts from Emily Nahon and Maria Schuller. Despite a flurry of shots from Little Rock, including several by Schuller, the score remained unchanged as Geisler consistently denied the visitors.

TENNESSEE TECH 0, SIUE 0
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.
- Sarah Bozeman recorded her first shutout as a Cougar Thursday as SIUE and Tennessee Tech battled to a 0-0 tie at Korte Stadium.

Bozeman grabbed six saves with two in the first half and four more in the second half.

SIUE is now 0-1-1 in the OVC and 1-8-2 overall. Tennessee Tech holds at 0-6-6 overall and 0-0-2 in the OVC.

Alayna Hauser led the Cougar offense with three shots. The Cougars also picked up shots from Claire Nieroda, Savannah DeFini and Anna Zichella.

The Golden Eagles' Maggie Conrad finished with three saves in goal. Lucia Cuadra and Allison Lee each had three shots.

UT MARTIN 4, LINDENWOOD 2
ST. CHARLES, Mo.
- The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team scored three goals in the second half of Thursday's match at Lindenwood and en route to its first victory of the season, 4-2.

The Lions struck first just 23 seconds into the match on a breakaway goal from MacKenzie Compton. However, in the 32nd minute, Alexandra Weihs sent in a cross from the left corner that found the head of Ava Huntrods, who directed the ball into the goal to tie the game at one.

Just when it looked like the two teams would go into the half tied, Lindenwood was awarded a penalty kick on a handball in the penalty area and buried it in the lower left corner to take a 2-1 lead.

While the first half belonged to the Lions, the second half was all UT Martin. Peyton Cook got the three-goal half started for the Skyhawks in the 48th minute when she snuck one past the Lions' keeper to knot the game at two all.

In the 66th minute, Anna Ostergaard Ibsen scored off a pass from Addy McCleary to give the Skyhawks their first lead of the match at 3-2. Finally, in the 74th minute, Peyton Cook earned her brace by scoring again, this time on a play set up by Audrey Fuchs.

The four goals Thursday doubled the scoring output of the season for UT Martin, taking their season total from two to six. The Skyhawks outshot Lindenwood in the match, 18-17, and also placed more shots on target at 7-6. Cook led all players in the match with five total shots, three on target and two goals.

Despite the two goals, Mac Titus ended the match with four saves to earn her first win of the season.

SOUTHERN INDIANA 1, MOREHEAD STATE 0
EVANSVILLE, Ind.
- University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer seized a 1-0 victory over Morehead State University Thursday night, as a late goal from sophomore forward Josie Pochocki lifted the Screaming Eagles to an Ohio Valley Conference win at Strassweg Field.

USI Women's Soccer (4-5-2, 1-0-1 OVC) recorded three points in the OVC standings with the win while extending the team's unbeaten streak to six matches. Morehead State (3-8-0, 1-1-0 OVC) suffered its first setback of the OVC season.

Pochocki's game-winning goal in the 80th minute was the sophomore's third tally of the season to tie for the team lead. Pochocki paced the Screaming Eagles Thursday night with four shots and three on goal. Redshirt sophomore forward Eva Boer was next with three shots and one on frame. Overall, USI outshot Morehead State 13-10, while the two sides matched with five shots on goal.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper and reigning OVC Goalkeeper of the Week Anna Markland gloved five saves Thursday night. Markland and the USI defensive unit posted their fifth shutout of the season.

The Screaming Eagles jumped out of the gates with some early chances, taking four shots in the first 12 minutes of the contest. Pochocki had two of the first four shots. Pochocki would make another attempt toward the goal nearly eight minutes later.

Morehead State challenged with a look in the 26th minute toward the low corner of the goal, but Markland dove and corralled the ball despite some slippery field conditions due to recent rain in the days leading up to Thursday's contest. The two teams battled to a scoreless first half.

In the second half, USI produced many threatening opportunities off corner kicks. A corner kick in the 55th minute was flicked on toward goal by Boer, but it was saved.

Markland delivered a crucial save in the 67th minute when a one-touch shot was sent back to her left. Markland got a glove on it to direct it wide of the goal. The USI keeper would make another clutch diving save to her left before the 80th minute on a shot inside the box.

It was a minute later when the Screaming Eagles jumped onto the scoreboard. Freshman forward Haley Kocher led senior forward Emerson Grafton with a pass to the right of the box and toward the end line. Grafton crossed the ball to the far side of the six-yard box, which is where Pochocki volleyed the ball into the net for the game-winning goal.

USI nearly doubled the lead with a similar play from the opposite side of the attacking third, but the shot chance was saved. However, the Screaming Eagles ran out the clock to close out the 1-0 triumph and avenge the loss to Morehead State in the 2024 OVC Tournament quarterfinals.
