PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LaReesha Cawthorn, F, Fr., 6-0, Franklin, Ky. – Tennessee Tech
Cawthorn recorded two double-doubles on the week, including a 27-point, 27-rebound performance in a win over Eastern Illinois. The freshman opened the week with 11 points, six rebounds and two steals at Tennessee State. She followed with a 15-point, 14 rebound outing versus Western Illinois before her career performance against EIU. Cawthorn added an assist, two steals and four blocks against the Panthers. The 27 rebounds are the most by an Ohio Valley Conference player since Southeast Missouri’s Lachelle Lyles with 32 against Tennessee State in 2005. She tied for fourth-most in program history, for a single game with Pam Cassity (27) vs. Middle Tennessee in the 1975-76 campaign and the most by a Golden Eagle player since that same 1975-76 season.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Brittani Wells, G, Jr., 5-7, Lakeland, Tenn. – UT Martin
Wells averaged 15.0 points, 3.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals/game to lead UT Martin to a pair of wins last week. She shot 60-percent (15-of-25) from the floor, 64.7-percent (11-of-17) from 3-point range and 4-for-4 at the free throw line. The junior scored 10 or more points in each of the Skyhawks’ three games for the week and had a career-high 18 against Southern Indiana. She followed up with 17 against Morehead State. Wells committed just four turnovers at point guard for an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.75.
