PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mia Nicastro, F, Sr., 6-2, St. Charles, Mo. – Western Illinois
Nicastro averaged 39.5 points and 8.0 rebounds/game, while adding three assists and three blocks to lead Western Illinois to a pair of wins. The senior produced her 12th double-double to open the week, scoring 22 points on 9-of-15 (.600) shooting and pulling down 10 boards against Eastern Illinois. She followed with a career-high 37 points versus Little Rock, finishing 11-of-20 (.550) from the field and 13-for-13 from the free throw line. Nicastro ranks fourth in the nation with 24.4 points/game. This marks the sixth honor this year.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Landon Forbes, G, Jr., 5-6, Wichita, Kan. – Morehead State
Forbes averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 5.5 steals/game on the week. Forbes opened with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals against Tennessee Tech. She closed the week with 14 points and six rebounds versus Tennessee State. Forbes set new career highs with eight assists and eight steals. Forbes earned her second honor of the year by shooting 56-percent (10-of-18) from the floor and 60-percent (6-of-7) from three-point range.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Kiyoko Proctor, Fr., G, 5-6, Alton, Ill. – SIUE
Proctor averaged 15.0 points/game pacing SIUE offensively to a pair of wins. The freshman scored 18 points against Southeast Missouri and followed with 12 versus UT Martin. She knocked down three three-pointers, dished out nine assists, and accumilated seven steals. This is Proctor’s second honor of the season.
