Western Illinois opened its season and the Kooten Johnson era with a 3-2 home victory over Quincy on Saturday.

MACOMB, Ill.
- Junior midfielder George Frost scored twice and Marco Presta added a goal as Western Illinois rallied from an early deficit to defeat Quincy 3-2 on Saturday in the regular season opener. 

Quincy struck first, but the Leathernecks responded with three unanswered goals to take control of the match. Presta leveled the score before Frost gave Western its first lead of the afternoon.

Frost later added his second goal from the penalty spot after Rashidi Ishibwami battled to win the penalty kick, putting the Leathernecks ahead 3-1.

Quincy found the back of the net late to cut the deficit to one, but Western Illinois held on to secure the season-opening victory.
