CINCINNATI - Eastern Illinois women’s soccer played to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon going toe-to-toe with Big 12 Conference member Cincinnati.

Ella Kratochvil was credited with three saves in the clean sheet win as she inched closer to the school career record.  She is now tied for second all-time with 19 career shutouts.

EIU moved to 2-3-3 on the season with one more non-conference match remaining on the schedule.

The Panthers registered two total two shots in the match with both on goal for their offensive chances, those shots were by Sadie Black and Alex Tetteh.

Cincinnati moved to 2-2-3 on the season with the draw.

It was the fifth shutout posted this season for the Panthers with the Colleen Bauer and Casey Kittridge helping anchor the backline on Sunday with both playing all 90 minutes.

LINDENWOOD 1, MURRAY STATE 0
ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-4-2) celebrated Senior Day with a 1-0 win over Murray State (1-6-2) at Hunter Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Lions matched their season-high with nine shots on goal in the contest.

Lindenwood turned five shots on target and earned five corner kicks in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net as the match entered halftime tied at 0-0.

The Lions remained aggressive out of the break, with their offensive pressure paying off in the 63rd minute, as Lizzie Conner played the ball short on a corner kick to Anna Johnson, who lofted a cross into the box that found the head of her younger sister, Peyton Johnson, who rose above the Racers defense to redirect the ball into the back of the net for the go ahead goal.

Murray State was unable to find an equalizer through the remaining 27 minutes as Caroline Ritter turned in her third clean sheet of the season, making a pair of saves.

VALPARAISO 2, SOUTHERN INDIANA 0
VALPARAISO, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer came up short in its road match at Valparaiso University on Sunday afternoon, 2-0, after the Beacons scored twice in the second half.
 
USI Women's Soccer (1-6-2), amid a four-game road stretch, was coming off a road win at Cleveland State University on Thursday. USI and Valparaiso (4-4-1) battled to nearly an even match statistically on Sunday, with USI recording 12 shots and six on goal compared to 11 shots and five on goal for Valparaiso. However, a long-range goal and a corner-kick goal by the Beacons in the second half proved to be the difference on the scoreboard.
 
Individually, senior forward Eva Boer paced the Screaming Eagles with four shots and two on goal. Graduate senior Payton Seymour tallied three shots with one on goal, and sophomore defender Tierney Mullady added a pair of shots and one on goal in a full 90 minutes played. In goal, sophomore goalkeeper Merrick Schwalbach made three saves, including one on a penalty kick.
 
Following a couple of early first-half shots by Valparaiso, USI created a pair of its own chances in the first dozen minutes. Seymour placed a shot on goal, while freshman Liza Anderson had a shot that went across the goal frame and missed just outside the post. Later in the first half, Schwalbach, who had two saves earlier in the half, made a diving save on a penalty kick in the 38th minute to keep the match tied 0-0. The contest remained scoreless going into halftime.
 
The Screaming Eagles applied a couple of pressure looks early in the second half. However, Valparaiso jumped onto the scoreboard first in the 60th minute when Martha Goddard curled a shot from nearly 25 yards out into the top-right corner of the goal to give the Beacons a 1-0 advantage. Valpo later doubled its lead to 2-0 in the 76th minute on a header off a corner kick. USI had a few late shots, including two free kicks by Mullady, but the Valpo goalkeeper covered them to seal the game.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 0, BELMONT 0
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri played Belmont to a 0-0 tie on Sunday. The Redhawks generated a late push with four shots and four corner kicks from 78:33 to 87:47 while the score remained 0-0.

Madison Geisler made five saves as SEMO held Belmont scoreless, while Belmont finished with a 13-9 shot advantage and put five shots on goal to the Redhawks' three. Neither side converted its chances.

The Redhawks kept Belmont off the board during an early stretch of pressure, with Madison Geisler making saves at 8:38 and 11:11. SEMO then generated their own set-piece push, earning four corner kicks from 22:45 to 28:44 and getting a shot from Chloe Ouimet. Geisler added two more saves late in the half, and the first half ended scoreless.

The Redhawks made their main second-half push late, earning four corner kicks from 78:33 to 87:25 and recording shots from Riley Henderson, Ouimet, Jocelyn Alicea and Maci Hatzenbuehler. Madison Geisler also saved Kate Virtel's shot at 85:33 to keep Belmont off the board. Neither team scored in the half, and the match finished 0-0.

This game marks five career shutouts for Madison Geisler, earning her the title of Player of the Game.

ILLINOIS STATE 3, WESTERN ILLINOIS 1
MACOMB, Ill. - The Western Illinois Women's Soccer team fought hard Sunday afternoon, but ended up losing 3-1 to the Illinois State Redbirds.

Illinois State got the scoring started early with a goal just 1 minute and 31 seconds into the game, when Maggie Dowling put one in, which was assisted by Kaya Durkee.

Western Illinois then gave up 2 goals between the 22nd and 26th minute, when Ava Watson and Rowann Law both were able to put one in the net.

Mahee-Lee Caron was able to put up 5 saves for the Leathernecks in the first half, one in which she faced 12 total shots.

The second half was one that was very back and forth throughout, with Western Illinois and Illinois State both putting up multiple shot attempts, but the Leathernecks' Claire Brown was able to score the lone goal of the second half in the 88th minute, pushing the score to 3-1. The Leathernecks were able to put 3 shots on goal in the second half, but none of the other shots found the back of the net, leaving the score at 3-1 in the end.

Lillian Johns played the second half in goal for Western Illinois, and was able to have 6 saves in her 45 minutes of play.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 1, UT MARTIN 0
MARTIN, Tenn. - In a game that was delayed nearly two and a half hours by power issues across Martin, the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team fell to Southern Illinois, 1-0, Sunday night at Skyhawk Soccer Field.

The power issues began before the game and the entire first half was played without lights. At halftime, around 7 p.m., the referees entered a three-hour delay window and waited for power to return. The lights returned around 9 p.m., and the game resumed at 9:30 p.m.
The Salukis struck early in the game when, in the fourth minute, Victoria Hassan got the ball on a breakaway and rifled the ball from the top of the 18-yard box for the lone score of the game.

After the delay, the Skyhawks spent most of the period in the Saluki's half of the field and in the attacking third. Despite 11 total shots and five on goal, the Skyhawks could not find the back of the net and fell 1-0.

Peyton Cook, Millie Perry and Alex Weihs each had two shots, while Perry, Mac Titus, Kylee Thompson, Recce Windsor and Unni Wolf all had a shot on goal. Titus finished her 90 minutes between the posts, allowing one goal with five saves.
