Tennessee Tech's "Wings Up Podcast" has had two episodes dealing with social issues. Episode 12 featured Thomas Savage, President of the Cookeville-Putnam Chapter of the NAACP, and members of the Golden Eagles basketball teams having a conversation about social justice. Episode 15 featured TTU Senior Instructor of Exercise Science Steve Smith, TTU Head Football Coach Dewayne Alexander and Golden Eagle football student-athletes Jamaal Thompson and Chris Tucker.
Belmont softball student-athlete Georgia McKee was a panelist on a CoSIDA Critical Conversation webinar "Activism and How to Amplify the Voice of Student-Athletes and Staff." See an archive of that webinar below.
The Belmont Department of Athletics and the University's Sport Administration Department hosted a panel examining Sports and Social Justice as part of the University's celebration of Diversity Week 2020. The event featured men's basketball head coach Casey Alexander, women's basketball head coach Bart Brooks, softball head coach Laura Matthews, Director of Digital Media & Social Strategy Kenisha Rhone and Director of Athletic Marketing Xavier Humphrey.
