CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Second-seeded SIUE defeated No. 6 Morehead State, 2-1, in overtime to advance to the finals of the 2014 OVC Soccer Championship.
The Cougars, who will be making their first appearance in the chapionship match, will face the winner of the Southeast Missouri/Jacksonville State match on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Morehead State's Macy Cobb netted her eighth goal of the season to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead.
The Cougars tied the game on a Michelle Auer goal in the 84th minute. It was Auer's ninth score of the season.
Five minutes into the overtime period, Marissa Delgado scored her first goal of the season to give the Cougars the win.
SIUE goalkeeper Jennifer Pelley gave up just one goal and made six saves in the win. Kaitlynn Murphy allowed two goals while making seven saves for the Eagles.

The Gamecocks will be making their first trip to the championship match and will face SIUE, which will also be making its first appearence in the finals.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half. In the 65th minute, Jacksonville State's Kelsey Bright scored the lone goal off an assisty by Katt Dowd. It was Bright's 11th goal of the year.
Jacksonville State goalkeeper Caroline Robinson made five saves to earn the shutout while Southeast Missouri's Kindra Lierz recorded four stops in the match.
