EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Top-seeded SIUE defeated No. 6 Eastern Illinois, 10-2, to advance to play the winner of the Jacksonville State/Eastern Kentucky game today at 4:30 p.m.
The Cougars scored in all but on inning. Alex McDavid went 3-for-3, including hitting a pair fo home runs. She drove in four runs in the game. Whitney Lanphier went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Haley Chambers earned her 24th victory of the season in the circle striking out a pair and not allowing an earned run.
April Markowski hit her sixth home run of the year, a two run shot in the bottom of the fifth.
Jessica Wireman suffered her first loss of the season for the Panthers
JACKSONVILLE STATE 13, EASTERN KENTUCKY 6
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Jacksonville State defeated Eastern Kentucky, 13-6, to advance to play SIUE later today.
Jordan Bullock led Jacksonville State with 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI while Stephanie Lewis went 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBI and two runs scored. Whitney Gillespie hit her ninth home run of the season.
Eastern Kenucky was paced by Krislyn Campos with three hits while Paige Murphy went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI.
Logan Green earned the win, tossing 5.2 innings of work with three strikeouts.
Shaylon Robb took the loss for the Colonels.
TENNESSEE TECH 6, MURRAY STATE 4
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Tennessee Tech defeated Murray State to advance to the championship game of the 2015 OVC Sotball Tournament. The Racers will play the winner of the SIUE/JSU game tomrorow.
The Eagles were led by Angi Sakamoto who went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Olivia Bennent recorded a pair of hits inlcuined her 15th home run of the season.
Maggie Glass and Jocelynn Rodgers each homered for Murray State while Alexa Becker and Mo Ramsey both recorded a pair of hits.
Danielle Liberatore struck out 10 batters to earn the win in the circle while Mason Robinson was tagged with the loss.
