It marked the fourth time in her career that she has scored two goals in a game. She finished the game with six shots, five of which came on goal. Danae Kaldoridou, F, 5-7, Jr., Athens, Greece - UT Martin Kaldoridou recorded two goals and an assist in the win over Marshall. She assisted on the eventual game-winner while adding goals in the 58th and 77th minutes during the season-opening win. She finished the two matches with eight shots and five shots on goal. She had an assist as the Panthers beat IUPUI for the program’s first season opening win since the 2010 season. Against Indiana State, she was part of a defensive effort that allow only allowed two shots on goal for the entire match during the 1-1 tie. She notched her 19th career shutout in the win over East Tennessee State. In the match versus Vanderbilt, Naerdemann helped keep the match scoreless in regulation, allowing the Golden Eagles to force overtime for the first time ever against an SEC school. In the win over ETSU, she made eight saves to clinch her 19th career shutout. The Govs fell at Chattanooga and defeated Middle Tennessee in double-overtime. Austin Peay’s win at MTSU was its first-ever victory over the Blue Raiders. It was also the Govs’ first overtime time win since Aug. 23, 2015. Four different Govs scored in the opening two matches with McKenzie Dixson and Renee Semaan each posting three points. Dixon scored the game-winning goal against MTSU. Austin Peay will be back in action this week at home as it hosts Western Kentucky on Friday and Lipscomb on Sunday. BELMONT (1-0-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Belmont defeated Middle Tennessee in its season-opener last week. Freshman Julie Garst scored her first collegiate goal in the second half versus the Blue Raiders. She finished the match with six shots, three of which were on goal. Junior Jessi Boozer recorded a pair of shots and recorded the game-winning score. Belmont will be back in action this week when it hosts Western Carolina on Friday and Tennessee Wesleyan on Sunday. EASTERN ILLINOIS (1-0-1 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Eastern Illinois defeated IUPUI and played to a draw with Indiana State to open up the 2017 season. The victory over IUPUI marked the program’s first season opening win since the 2010 season. Freshman Pilar Barrio recorded the assist on the game-winning goal against IUPUI. She followed that up with the lone goal against Indiana State. Senior Carrie Caplin helped anchor a defense that allowed only one goal over the two matches. She recorded an assist versus IUPUI. Sophomore goalkeeper Sara Teteak recorded a 0.45 goals against average over the two games. She gave up just one goal during the 200 minutes in goal. Teteak notched six saves last week. Eastern Illinois will host Green Bay on Friday and Milwaukee on Sunday. EASTERN KENTUCKY (0-1-1 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Eastern Kentucky fell to Northern Kentucky and played to a scoreless draw with Chattanooga to open up the 2017 campaign. Senior Emmi Carroll scored the first goal of the Colonels’ season just minutes into the game versus NKU. Junior defender Kacy Eckley played all 200 minutes in the opening weekend. Senior goalkeeper Anna Hall played every minute over the two matches. She made seven saves and allowed just two goals. She notched her 17th career shutout in the draw against Chattanooga. Eastern Kentucky will travel to Kentucky on Thursday and IUPUI on Sunday. JACKSONVILLE STATE (1-1-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Jacksonville State fell to Alabama before defeating Alabama State to open up the 2017 season. Junior Claire Petersen scored the game-winning goal and was credited with an assist in the win over Alabama State. She finished the week with four shots, three of which were on goal. Freshman defender Lindsay Albani played 173 minutes in her collegiate debut. Sophomore Cheyenne Carden recorded the equalizing goal versus ASU. Jacksonville State will host Middle Tennessee on Friday and Georgia State on Sunday. MOREHEAD STATE (0-2-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Morehead State dropped matches to Western Carolina and Northern Kentucky to open up the 2017 season. Caitlyn Burdine scored the Eagles’ goal against WCU. Samantha Damante recorded the assist on the score. Morehead State will host Bowling Green on Friday. MURRAY STATE (1-0-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Murray State defeated Marshall in its season opener. Senior Harriet Withers scored both goals, including the game winner. It was the fourth time in her career that she has scored two goals in a game. Sophomore defender Karsyn Harsch was part of a defense that didn’t give up a goal. She also recorded an assist and two shots. Junior goalkeeper Alex Steigerwald made three saves en route to her 12th career shutout. Murray State will hit the road this week as it travels to Troy on Friday and South Alabama on Sunday. SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (2-0-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Southeast Missouri defeated Evansville and Illinois Springfield to open up the 2017 season. Senior Maggie Pike recorded her first multi-goal game of her career in the shutout of Illinois Springfield as she scored a pair of goals. Junior Maddi Karstens was part of a defense that held opponents scoreless. She played 159 minutes over the two matches. Senior goalkeeper Kindra Lierz recorded her 24th career shutout in the win over Evansville. The Redhawks will host Milwaukee on Friday and Green Bay on Sunday. SIUE (1-1-0 overall. 0-0-0 OVC): SIUE fell to Clemson before defeating Cal Poly last week to open up the 2017 season. Senior Caroline Hoefert scored a pair of goals and an assist over the two games. She provided the game-winning assist versus Cal Poly. The Cougars will host Western Illinois on Thursday. TENNESSEE TECH (1-1-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): Tennessee Tech split a pair of road games to open up the 2017 season. The Golden Eagles fell to Vanderbilt before defeating East Tennessee State. Sophomore Nora Vicsek scored the lone Tech goal this weekend. She notched her fifth career game-winning goal in the victory over ETSU. Senior defender Lauren Brewer was part of defense played every minute over the two matches. She helped the Golden Eagles hold opponents scoreless in regulation last week. Junior goalkeeper Kari Naerdemann gave up just one goal and made nine saves in 182 minutes of action. She notched her 13th career shutout in the win over East Tennessee State. Tennessee Tech will host Western Carolina on Sunday. UT MARTIN (1-1-0 overall, 0-0-0 OVC): UT martin defeated Marshall before falling to Evansville last week to open up the 2017 campaign. Junior Danae Kaldaridou scored two goals and notched an assist in the win over Marshall last week. She notched the assist on the eventual game-winner. Kaldaridou recorded eight shots, five of which were on goal over the two matches. Katelyn Colvin tallied the game-winning goal against Marshall and also added an assist in both matches. Junior Kaci Mitchell recorded her first career goal against Marshall. Freshman goalkeeper Erica Myers won her collegiate debut, conceding only a penalty kick goal in the win over Marshall. She posted a 1.50 goals against average during the first two matches. The Skyhawks will host UAB on Friday before traveling to Western Kentucky on Sunday.
