• Complete 2021 PING All-Region Selections
Two Ohio Valley Conference men's golfers have been named Division I PING All-Region by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The selections included Belmont senior
Evan Davis and UT Martin junior
Nick Wolf.
Davis was selected to the Southeast Region Team while Wolf was selected to the East Region team.
Davis finished the season ranked 92nd in the nation by Golfstat, posted a top-20 finish at the NCAA Kingston Springs Regional, earned Co-Medalist honors at the OVC Championship, and was named the OVC Golfer of the Year. In addition, he led the OVC and is 16th nationally in scoring average at 70.2. He won two individual titles this spring and finished among the top-three in five of the seven tournaments he competed. He also ranks among the top-25 in the nation in three statistical categories: scoring versus par, par-3 scoring, and par-4 scoring). Davis becomes the first Belmont golfer to earn All-Region honors in program history.
Wolf ranked second in the OVC with a 71.1 stroke average and became only the third golfer in school history to rack up All-OVC accolades on three separate occasions – joining Hunter Richardson (2015-18) and Brendon Caballero (2013-15) in that exclusive company. Wolf won a pair of events and boasted four top-four finishes in 2020-21, topping the individual leaderboard with exact scores of 204 (-12) at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate (March 14-16) and again at the National Intercollegiate (March 29-30). He finished no lower than 15th place in any of the first seven tournaments and tied for the Skyhawks’ top finish (38th) at the eighth and final event of the season – the NCAA Regional held in Noblesville, Ind. on May 17-19. Wolf carded 22 countable scores in 23 opportunities, beginning the season with 17 consecutive countable rounds.
