OVC Players of the Week -  May 10

 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sierra Gilmore, SS, Sr., 5-11, Williamsburg, Ind. - Murray State
Gilmore hit .625 with four runs scored and six RBI in the series sweep of Morehead State. She went 3-for-3 with a double and a grand slam in the series opener. She drove in five runs and scored three times in the first game. She followed that up by going 2-for-3  with a double, a stolen base and another RBI in the second game. Gilmore now has a team-leading 18 multi-hit games.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Hannah James, P, Jr., 5-10, Nicholasville, Ky. - Murray State
James made an appearance in all three wins against Morehead State last week.  She came in relief in the first game, two and two-third scoreless innings, giving up just one hi and striking out two. She followed that up with five shutout innings of two-hit softball, striking out four, in the second game. In the finale, she carried a no-hit bid into the seventh, recording 11 of the first 12 outs of the game by strikeout. She finished the game with 13 strikeouts. James set a new school single-season strikeout record with 158.
