LINDENWOOD 6, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 3
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Lindenwood Softball team (23-20, 12-9 OVC) swept their third OVC series out of their last four with a 6-3 win in the series finale at SEMO on Sunday afternoon. The bench, along with Kylee Crowder and Teryn Brown, delivered clutch hits over the final two innings of the game to lead the Lions to their 11th win over their last 13 games.
After three scoreless frames from Freshman starter Ava Risum, the Lindenwood offense drew first blood thanks to Kylee Crowder's second home run of the series in the top of the fourth to put the Lions in front by a score of 1-0 behind a solo home run to left field. The Redhawks immediately responded in the home half of the fourth by putting up three runs behind a two-run home run from SEMO's Raigan Brannon to put them in front 3-1 after four innings of play.
In the top of the fifth, Teryn Brown drew a one-out walk and advanced to second base after Anna Sanders singled through the right side to put runners on first and second, but the offense for the Lions couldn't capitalize on the scoring chance as the score remained 3-1 in favor of SEMO. Samantha Roulanaitis recorded a one-two-three inning in the bottom of the fifth to keep the deficit at two, and Lindenwood evened the score at three in the top of the sixth by plating two runs behind back-to-back RBI singles to centerfield. The bench delivered for the Lions in the sixth as Danielle Franz pinch hit for Sadie Sexauer and drew a two out walk to put runners on first and second after Crowder drew a one-out walk earlier in the inning. Madison Adams then pinch hit for Dallis Darnell and delivered her first hit of the 2026 season with an RBI single to centerfield that brought home Crowder to make it a 3-2 game. Brown then followed the Adams single with an RBI single of her own to even the score at three, and Roulanaitis would limit the Redhawks offense in the bottom of the sixth by getting back-to-back groundouts after allowing a one-out walk to keep the game knotted at three with one inning to play.
In the seventh, Madisen Noll led off the inning with a walk and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt from Tori Hatton and a groundout to first base from Jolie McMinn. With two outs and a runner on third, Crowder drove in her second run of the game and her sixth RBI of the series with a full-count RBI single to left field to give Lindenwood a 4-3 lead. The Lions would not be done there as Karter Skillman iced the game the next at-bat with a two run home run to centerfield to add some insurance runs to out Lindenwood up 6-3 with three outs to go. Roulanaitis put the game away in the bottom of the seventh to secure the sweep of the Redhawks for the first time in the Division I Era and extended the Lions winning streak to four games. The Sophomore pitcher from Smithton, Ill pitched the final four innings of the contest and didn't allow a single hit while striking out three to earn her fifth win of the 2026 season.
