MURRAY STATE 1, MOREHEAD STATE 0
MURRAY, Ky.
- A stellar defensive effort wasn't enough to overcome Murray State as the Soccer Eagles dropped a late heartbreaker at the hands of the Racers 1-0 Sunday afternoon.

The loss drops the Eagles to 4-7-3 on the season and 2-2-1 in league play. Despite the loss, the Eagles remain in strong position within the OVC standings with seven points.

The pace of the game swung back and forth between the two halves. Morehead State managed to keep its opponent from registering a single shot on goal throughout the entire first half, but the Racers flipped the script in the second half by holding the Eagles without a shot.

The Eagles flew out to a fast start, with Jenna Setters firing the game's first shot 13 seconds into the match. Morehead State continued to generate chances on net throughout the half, with Abby Wesselkamper, Katie Kiolbassa, Madelyn Mozeleski and Sidney Palla all putting shots on goal.

Michelle Jerantowski withstood the counterattack from the Racers for much of the second half, recording four saves before Murray State finally broke through in the 88th minute to break the tie.

Murray State's Chloe Barnthouse scored her fourth goal of the season to give the Racers the win.

Olivia Prock and Claire Larose put shots on goal in the ninth and tenth minutes, respectively, but neither was able to best Redden.

The Govs also had four shots that were blocked by Southeast Missouri defenders, with Rachel Bradberry having two of her team-high three shots never make it to the goalkeeper.
