MIAMI 2, MOREHEAD STATE 0
OXFORD, Ohio
- Soccer fought hard to attempt to overcome early setbacks, but ultimately fell on the road to Miami (Ohio) Wednesday night, 2-0. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-5-1 on the season as they continue to search for their first road victory of the year.

The Eagles defense faced steady pressure nearly all game, but after conceding a pair of early goals, settled in to keep the team in the game. Morehead State managed to hold strong Redhawks offense without a goal for the entirety of the second half.

Michelle Jerantowski notched five more saves, including stopping all three shots against her in the second half. The junior goaltender now has 33 saves on the season; good for third in the OVC.

The Eagles were tested early and often by the Redhawks, who were stymied by Jerantowski on a chance in the 14th minute, but a scramble in front of the net in the 17th minute finally got through to give Miami (OH) the early lead.

The Eagles attempted to respond quickly, winning a corner kick in the 20th minute, but the chance ended with a Sarah Faloon shot missing wide. The Redhawks would cash in on their own corner kick three minutes later, putting the Eagles into a 2-0 hole.

Morehead State attempted to chip into the lead, but shots from Chelsea Elmore in the 35th minute and Nicole Fiantaco in the 79th minute were stopped by the Redhawks goaltender to prevent the Eagles from getting on the scoreboard.

Morehead State will look to bounce back quickly, as the Eagles take on Chattanooga in Tennessee for their final non-conference game of the year Sunday at 1:00 pm ET.
