COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - SIUE defeated Tennessee Tech, 1-0, to win the 2022 OVC Soccer Championship. It marks the Cougars third straight title and fifth overall.
SIUE also earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will find out it's opponent during the selection show on Monday, Nov. 7. The selection show will air at 3 p.m. CT on NCAA.com
After a scoreless first half, SIUE's Sidney Christopher scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Taylor Dolt.
Tennessee Tech's Chloe Smith led the team with four shots, including one on goal.
The Cougar goalkeeper Taylor Spiller made three saves to earn the shutout.
