#8 LITTLE ROCK 3, #4 SOUTHERN INDIANA 1
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Little Rock topped Southern Indiana 3-1 on Sunday to advance to the OVC Semifinals in Cookeville, Tennessee.
The first half of the match was as back-and-forth of a match as the Trojans have seen all season. The Trojans just out shot the Screaming Eagles five to four and had one more save.
In the second half, the Trojans pulled away going on a three goal run.
The first goal came in the 47th minute from Sanaa Williams (2) after a flurry of events happened at the goal. Maddy Eisner (1) scored her first goal of the season after placing the ball in the opposite side corner. Eisner's goal would ultimately be the game winning goal.
The Trojans' final goal would come from Jaeda Centeno as she sent a ball through the goalkeepers legs.
Little Rock will play host Tennessee Tech in the semifinals.
#7 SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1, #3 SIUE (5-4 IN SHOOTOUT)
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southeast Missouri topped three-time defending OVC Tournament Champion SIUE, winning 5-4 in a shootout on Sunday in the OVC Tournament Quarterfinals.
Trailing for 87 minutes, SEMO found the equalizer in the 88th minute off the foot of defender Alayna Jakul.
Sophomore forward Cayla Koerner won the ball back in SEMO's attacking third in a cold, rainy match to setup the game-tying goal. Koerner slid the ball to Jakul who was cutting towards the net, as she slotted the ball past SIUE goalkeeper Taylor Spiller to tie the match at a goal apiece.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sophia Elfrink played the entire 110-minute match, registering two saves in the contest as SIUE finished with 10 shots, with just three on target.
Neither team was able to get much going in the match's overtime period as the game went to penalty kicks. Emma Tucker would eventually score the game-winner on the seventh attempt.
SEMO will play No. 2 seed Morehead State in the semifinals.
