INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.
- SIUE women's soccer collected a road victory Sunday, besting IUPUI 3-2 at Michael Carroll Stadium.

SIUE improved to 2-2 for the season while IUPUI dropped to 3-1.

Cougar defender Mary Fetter provided the eventual game winner at 79:06 on a double assist from Maddie Clark and Miranda Malcom. It was Fetter's first career goal.

The Jaguars had entered the game not having allowed a goal in their first three games, but the Cougars claimed three goals in their first road contest of the season.

Savannah DeFini first put the Cougars on the scoreboard at 26:39 on a pass from Taryn Moore. Matea Diekema made it 2-0 on her first goal of the season, scoring with just 36 seconds left in the first half with an assist from Macie Begley.

The Cougars were outshot 18-12 in the game but picked up a season-high nine saves from goalkeeper Taylor Spiller.

IUPUI's goals came at 49:15 from Shannon Ott and ayt 81:46 from Carlie Werner.

SIUE returns home to Korte Stadium next for a 7 p.m. contest Thursday against SIU Carbondale.

EASTERN ILLINOIS 1, INDIANA STATE 1
CHARLESTON, Ill.
- Eastern Illinois women's soccer battled to a 1-1 draw at Lakeside Field on Sunday afternoon. The match marks the second year that the meeting between the Panthers and the Sycamores ends in a tie. In 2022, both schools posted a 0-0 draw.

EIU is now 1-2-1 on the season while ISU moved to 0-0-4 on the season.

EIU came out strong on the attacking half of the field from the moment the whistle was blown. In the 9th minute, Ella Onstott found Serra Pizano on the left side, the senior forward dribbled past one defender before taking the shot that would give EIU the early 1-0 lead. The game then became physical as both teams fought hard for the ball. The Sycamores found the equalizer with Maddie Helling in the 32nd minute, after a cross coming from the left side of Panther's defense.

In the second half, EIU's defense managed to hold off ISU's offense to secure the tie. Goalkeepers Lexi Prusow and Ashlyn Hoover added three saves each for the Panthers. 

The Panthers will now hit the road once again this season as they prepare to face Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday, Aug. 31st. Kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 2, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 0
CARBONDALE, Ill.
- outheast Missouri women's soccer (2-1-1) picked up their second victory of the season on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 performance over Southern Illinois (1-2-1) at Lew Hartzog T&F Complex in Carbondale. 
 
Sophomore forward Cayla Koerner registered her second goal of the season in the 54th minute of Sunday's match. Koerner cut inside a SIU defender and curled it into the top right corner of the goal with her right foot to beat SIU goalkeeper Chantelle Symes. 
 
Koerner finished the match with 53 minutes of action which included four shots. 
 
The Redhawks dominated offensively on Sunday, finishing the match with a 14-5 shots advantage over the Salukis. 
 
SEMO registered half of their shots on goal while the SEMO defense did not surrender a shot-on-goal to SIU. 
 
Freshman Emily Baker recorded her second goal of the season in the 81st minute to give the Redhawks a much-needed insurance goal to secure the victory. 

Baker took the pass from sophomore Zoe Houston and slotted the ball into the bottom right of the goal to beat Symes once again to seal the deal. 
 
For Houston, the assist was the first of her season. 
 
Freshman goalkeeper Madison Geisler made her Redhawks starting debut in Sunday's contest behind a stout SEMO defense. Geisler did not face a shot-on-target in her 78-minute shift. 
 
Sophia Elfrink finished the rest of the contest to complete the combined shutout as SEMO held an opponent off the board for the second-straight contest. 
 
Three Redhawks recorded a full-90-minute shift on Sunday as Emma Brune, Maddie Paulson, and Natalie Jackson kept SEMO in control all day. Brune and Jackson fired three shots between the two, including a combined two on target. 
 
SEMO will be back in action on Sunday, September 3 when they take on Big 10-member Iowa in Iowa City. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m., CT. in the Hawkeye State. 

OKLAHOMA STATE 8, LITTLE ROCK 0
STILLWATER, Okla
. - Little Rock fell, 8-0, on the road at Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Trojans fell to 0-1-2 on the season. 

Amaya Arias, Karina DePaoli and Camryn Jacobs each registered a shot in the game. 

Little Rock returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Central Arkansas. 

UT MARTIN 2, WESTERN CAROLINA 1
MARTIN, Tenn
. - Despite the weather, the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team soared to a 2-1 win over Western Carolina.
 
For its first home win of the season, UT Martin (2-1) outshot Western Carolina (2-1-1) 14-13 and found goals in each half. The Skyhawks had an early corner kick and cashed in with Catey Hunt finding Izzy Patterson in the eighth minute to give UT Martin the early lead. The Skyhawk defense held the Catamounts scoreless in the first half courtesy of two saves from Poppy Bastock.
 
In the second half, Western Carolina got on the board from a Naya Marcil goal that was assisted on by Maggie Lloyd. Both teams were in a deadlock until Hunt threaded the needle on a corner kick to earn the game winning goal for UT Martin in the 85th minute.
 
The match was later put on hold due to severe weather in the area just three minutes later with 2:23 left to play in a game. After a 30-minute delay, the match was later called by officials, resulting in the 2-1 victory for the Skyhawks. 
 
UT Martin newcomers Peyton Cook and Jenny Enriquez tallied shots on goal with Patterson leading the way for the Skyhawks with a team-high three shots.
 
UT Martin will hit the road to face SEC foe Kentucky on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on SEC Network+.


PURDUE FORT WAYNE 1, SOUTHERN INDIANA 0
EVANSVILLE, Ind.
- University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer put together a solid performance on both sides of the field Sunday afternoon, but the Screaming Eagles came up on the wrong side of a 1-0 score against Purdue Fort Wayne University at Strassweg Field.
 
With Sunday's results, the Screaming Eagles are now 0-3-1 this season, and Purdue Fort Wayne moved to 2-2-0.
 
In the first 45 minutes, both defenses played a strong role in the match. Each offense took some time to settle into a fluid rhythm in the contest. The two sides combined for seven shots in the first half. Southern Indiana's best first-half opportunity came in the 27th minute when sophomore midfielder Peyton Murphy (Bargersville, Indiana) took a strong rip at goal but was saved by the Mastodons' graduate keeper Samantha Castaneda.
 
After that point, USI grabbed some control of the momentum and possession in the attacking half. Purdue Fort Wayne had one last look in the first half after a corner kick, taking a hard shot, but USI's sophomore keeper Anna Markland (Hoover, Alabama) made a diving to the lower left corner to keep the contest scoreless at the halftime break.
 
Out of halftime, Purdue Fort Wayne came out on the attack. Following a solid save by Markland, the Mastodons scored a rebound goal to take a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute on an unlucky break against the Screaming Eagles.
 
In the middle of the second half, USI created some momentum in the attacking half, generating a pair of good shot attempts. Freshman midfielder Lydia Bordfeld (Evansville, Indiana) took a crack at the top-left corner of the goal in the 64th minute from approximately 25 yards out, but the Mastodons' keeper dove to make the save. Bordfeld had another chance a few minutes later that was also saved. USI had a flurry of shots in the latter minutes of the second half but could not sneak one by Castaneda before the final horn.
 
Both programs tallied 10 shots in the game, as Purdue Fort Wayne had six on goal and USI put five on target. Bordfeld put both of her shot attempts on goal, while Murphy had one shot on frame out of two attempts. Freshman forward Pilar Torres (Chula Vista, California) also took two shots in the match. Markland finished with a season-high five saves for Southern Indiana.
 
On Thursday, Southern Indiana will return to Ohio for the second consecutive week, taking on Miami (OH) University at 6 p.m. CT.
