MOREHEAD STATE 1, EASTERN ILLINOIS 1
CHARLESTON, Ill.
- The Eastern Illinois women's soccer team kicked off an afternoon of soccer at Lakeside Field with a 1-1 dramatic draw against the Eagles of Morehead State. The Panthers are now 2-5-3 in the season, and 1-1-1 in the OVC. Morehead State sits at 2-0-2 in the OVC and 3-4-5 overall.

The fans who attended the match witnessed a scoreless first half with little attacking action from both teams. The Panthers and the Eagles concentrated their effort on keeping a good shape defensively and possessing the ball, but with no room for creativity on the final third of the field.

In the second half, both teams became more open to risks, as finding the goal was the ultimate reward. With the offensive mindset, Morehead State ended first up on the scoreboard with Colleen Swift. The Eagle's goal came in the 67th minute of the match. EIU did not go down easily, as the Panthers kept fighting in search of the equalizing goal. With only twenty five seconds left on the clock, Abby Reinl crossed the ball into the box, and Ella Onstott concluded the play with a bottom right header to give the Panthers the equalizer, 1-1.

Goalkeeper Ella Kratochvil made two saves for EIU, as Eastern Illinois outshot Morehead State 12-6.

ST. CHARLES, Mo
. -  Southeast Missouri women's soccer (5-3-2, 1-1-1 OVC) picked up their first win in the Ohio Valley Conference on Thursday night at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Redhawks defeated Lindenwood (2-8-1, 0-3-0 OVC) behind goals from Emma Brune and Zoe Houston.

Brune got the Redhawks on the board early, once again from a corner kick. This one fell to the feet of Brune who then smashed it into the net to beat Lindenwood goalie Anistine Erika to give SEMO a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute.

Brune finished the match with two shots, including the goal.

Midfielder Zoe Houston scored the second and final goal of the contest off a beautifully struck free kick from just outside of LU's box.

A foul on Lindenwood setup another set piece with Houston standing over the ball. She struck it to the goalkeeper's left and the ball found the back of the net to seal the deal.

SEMO, despite the victory, lost the shot count in Thursday's match. The Lions outshot SEMO by a total of 12-7, but goalkeeper Sophia Elfrink continued her impressive season.

Elfrink registered eight saves as the Lions failed to score as Elfrink tied her season-high in saves in the match. The sophomore from Columbia, Mo. now has 36 saves on the season and registered her sixth shutout of the season.
