OVC Student-Athlete of the Week presented by Jostens: Paxton DeLaurent

Now in its 77th year, the Ohio Valley Conference continues to build on the success that has made it the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I conference. Over those previous 76 years the League has inspired student-athletes to realize their academic aspirations, maximize their athletics potential, and cultivate their leadership skills to prepare them for life beyond their collegiate experience.

As part of a partnership with Jostens, each week through the academic year, we will honor an OVC student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom, in addition to earning accolades on the playing surface.

This week's honoree is Southeast Missouri senior quarterback Paxton DeLaurent. Last year he earned the OVC Academic Medal of Honor for his work in the classroom. Through three games this season he has completed 75-of-125 passes (60.0%) for 767 yards and eight touchdowns. He threw for six touchdowns against UT Martin, earning him Big South-OVC Offensive Players of the Week and FCS Nation Radio National Player of the Week.
